Datacolor LightColor Meter
value proposition
Datacolor has integrated its color expertise into an innovative device that offers more than a conventional light meter. The Datacolor LightColor Meter is a compact, Bluetooth-enabled all-rounder that serves as a personal assistant on set and fits conveniently in any pocket.
It continuously transmits both light and color data in real time to your smartphone via the Datacolor LightColor Meter app, available for free in the app store. You can easily optimize your lighting and exposure without letting go of the camera. Synchronize multiple Datacolor LightColor Meters to get real-time light and color temperature measurements simultaneously in multiple locations.
Target group
Photographers, camera operators, hybrid photographers/videographers and event videographers benefit from using the Datacolor LightColor Meter. The device is not only a light meter but also measures the color temperature for any light source, including daylight, tungsten, LED, HMI, fluorescent, flash and more.
The Datacolor LightColor Meter is one of the easiest ways to ensure accurate exposure for reliable results and an optimized post-production workflow. It takes the
guesswork out of
mastering color and light while you master the art of visual representation.
Light metering takes the guesswork out of exposure settings and helps photographers, videographers, camera operators and hybrid photo/videographers better control lighting conditions and color consistency in varying lighting conditions and across multiple cameras. Readings are instantly sent to your smartphone via the Datacolor LightColor Meter app and provide continuous accuracy updates, even in changing lighting conditions such as changing daylight
. In addition to saving time and being portable, the Datacolor LightColor Meter's comprehensive light and color information provides users with enhanced creative control.
You can synchronize multiple Datacolor LightColor Meters to simultaneously receive readings from different areas of your set via the app and continuously update this information - an extremely helpful feature in situations with changing light that saves you time and effort while providing real-time accuracy.
In addition to color temperature, the Datacolor LightColor Meter also measures dUV - the green-magenta component of your light, which allows you to determine if correction is needed for fluorescent, LED or sunlight. With a meter, you can read the actual color temperature of the light instead of relying on your camera's automatic white balance. This allows you to set the white balance correctly from the start of the shoot.
With the Datacolor LightColor Meter, you can set up to 15 alerts on each connected device to indicate changes in lighting conditions, color temperature shifts or inconsistencies that may occur, for example, when you are outdoors and clouds are forming or moving, or in the studio if your flash does not fire.
