Peak Design Travel Backpack 20 Liters Black
Travel Backpack: From weekend getaways to round-the-world trips
The Travel Line is a well-designed luggage system for short trips, business trips, and city breaks. In addition to the 45- and 30-liter travel backpack models, there is also a 20-liter daypack—ideal for carry-on and as a complement to the Peak Design rolling suitcase.
Compression zipper and collapsible section to adjust packing volume
To offer even more flexibility, the Travel Backpack features a compression zipper on the top. This allows you to adjust the volume from a maximum of 45 liters down to 30 liters (33–27 liters for the 30-liter version and 20–23 liters for the smallest one). On the inside of the backpack, there are snap buttons that keep the backpack folded. In this so-called daypack mode, the backpack can only hold packing cubes in the lower section.
Perfectly compatible with packing cube modules
For the Travel Backpacks, there is a complete system of packing cubes that fit seamlessly into the backpack and make optimal use of the space. The system includes various packing cubes for clothing, camera gear, electronic gadgets, shoes, and toiletries. You can freely combine the packing cubes to suit your trip. Each small packing cube counts as one module unit. For example: The small Camera Cube counts as one module unit, while a fully packed Packing Cube Medium counts as two module units. In the standard configuration, both the 45-liter and 30-liter backpacks can hold three module units—or, for example, a Medium Camera Cube and a Packing Cube. The 45-liter version can also accommodate a Wash or Tech Pouch. The small 20-liter backpack can hold an S-Medium Cube in its standard configuration or the slightly larger Medium Cube in the expanded configuration.
Ergonomic shoulder straps with swivel joints for an optimal fit against the body and a hip belt
The Travel Backpack features ergonomic shoulder straps with swivel joints. The joints ensure an optimal fit against the body. Additionally, a short chest strap is included, allowing the two shoulder straps to be connected across the chest, which keeps the backpack even more securely in place. A length-adjustable hip belt is also available as a separate accessory. This transfers part of the backpack’s weight to the hip area to further relieve pressure on the back. The hip belt features a small zippered pocket and accessory loops for a Capture Clip or Range Pouch. Length adjustability is a given in both cases.
Foldable back panel with storage space to conceal the shoulder and hip straps (45 / 30 liters)
The foldable back panel is also versatile and customizable. You can leave it unfolded as a single layer. This provides a large surface area for support. Integrated magnets secure the outer wings of the back panel so they don’t stick out. You can fold the panel into a double layer to allow more airflow against your back. There’s also the option to stow the shoulder straps and hip belt behind the panel. This option is ideal if you’re carrying the backpack by hand like a travel bag. For this purpose, there are carrying handles on almost every side, one of which even functions as a trolley loop.
Back flap for wide-area access
The entire main compartment is accessible via the large back flap with a wrap-around zipper—the best way to pack the backpack like a suitcase and much more organized than with conventional backpacks that are accessed from top to bottom. In the middle, there is a divider panel equipped with a zipper, so you can open it to access the main compartment from the front as well. The divider can be stowed in a dedicated compartment. This gives you permanent access to the main compartment from both sides. The position of the flap on the back also acts as a built-in anti-theft feature when you’re on the go.
Bringing a water bottle or tripod? There are large slots for these on each side (45 / 30 liters; the 20-liter version has a separate inner compartment). The laptop compartment in the lid flap accommodates devices up to 15 inches. At the very top, there’s a handy zippered compartment with pockets for sunglasses, headphones, and similar items that need to be quickly accessible without rummaging through the rest of your gear. More luggage than planned? No need to worry! The included Cord-Hook carrying straps give the bag additional carrying capacity: simply snap the adjustable carrying loops into place on the sides. Tripods and other items can thus be securely attached to the outside and carried along. When you’re not using this feature, the straps can be stowed in a hidden storage compartment.
