Outstanding optical performance across the entire image

Three double-sided aspherical lenses and two SLD glass elements contribute to the high optical performance of the Sigma 12mm F1.4 DC Contemporary from aperture F1.4. Sagittal coma is also well corrected, which ensures clear, sharp images from edge to edge. This makes the lens particularly suitable for astrophotography - stars are still depicted in a pinpoint shape even close to the edge of the image.
Compact and lightweight design for excellent mobility
The effective arrangement of the double-sided aspherical elements also contribute to the compact and lightweight design. For an ultra-wide angle lens with a large aperture, it has an overall length of just 69.4mm and weighs only 225g*. This ensures a high degree of mobility, so that the Sigma 12mm F1.4 DC Contemporary can easily be taken on trips and for a wide range of shots. It is also easy to use with shooting grips and gimbals. Focus-breathing has been suppressed extremely effectively with the Sigma 12mm F1.4 DC Contemporary. This means that there are virtually no changes to the angle of view when the point of focus is shifted, which ensures very natural-looking focus tracking in video recordings

. Functional aperture ring

The Sigma 12mm F1.4 DC Contemporary is equipped with an aperture ring for intuitive control of the aperture. The Canon RF Mount version has a control ring instead of an aperture ring, which can be assigned individual functions via the camera menu of compatible cameras.

Optical design to minimize flares and ghosting

Flares and ghosting were largely eliminated during the development phase of the Sigma 12mm F1.4 DC Contemporary thanks to state-of-the-art simulation technology for all light incidence situations.

Dust protection, splash protection* and water and oil-repellent coating

In addition to the dust and splash-protected construction, the front element of the Sigma 12mm F1.4 DC Contemporary has a water and oil-repellent coating.

means that the lens can also be used in harsh conditions
