Optical and mechanical design that realizes both compact dimensions and high performance

By using glass elements with a high refractive index, the extension of the Sigma 20-200 mm F3.5-6.3 DG Contemporary has been reduced on the Zoomen. This also contributes to a simpler internal structure and a slim lens body. The optimal arrangement of four double-sided aspherical lenses, one FLD glass and three SLD glass elements, combined with an extremely precise mechanism in each Zoom group, ensures high optical performance over the entire Zoom range.

To help photographers capture even the most fleeting moments, the Sigma 20-200 mm F3.5-6.3 DG Contemporary incorporates an HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor to achieve fast autofocus with excellent drive accuracy.

Dust protection, splash protection* and water- and oil-repellent coating

In addition to the dust- and splash-protected construction, the front element of the Sigma 20-200 mm F3.5-6.3 DG Contemporary has a water- and oil-repellent coating.

. Equipped with a Zoom lock switch

The Sigma 20-200 mm F3.5-6.3 DG Contemporary is equipped with a Zoom lock switch, which locks the lens for transport in the wide-angle range and thus prevents the barrel from extending unintentionally due to its own weight. The lock can be released not only via the switch, but also by turning the Zoom ring, which enables quick and flexible handling for spontaneous shots.
