The XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR is a super-telephoto lens with a focal length of 400 mm (equivalent to 609 mm in 35 mm format) and a maximum aperture of f/4.5. Designed for use with an APS-C sensor featuring a 1.5x crop factor, the lens offers impressive magnification that can be further increased with a teleconverter. Although it is a super-telephoto lens, the XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR is exceptionally light and compact, weighing approximately 1,245 grams*. The advanced image stabilizer allows for longer exposure times of up to 5.5 EV stops* 2. This makes it possible to capture sharp super-telephoto images even when shooting handheld. The lens is particularly well-suited, for example, for photographing birds, wildlife, motorsports, and airplanes. The XF lens series’ lineup of fast super-telephoto lenses is now complete with the XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR, covering focal lengths ranging from approximately 300 mm to 762 mm (35mm equivalent). Optical Excellence

The FUJINON XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR features a fixed focal length of 400 mm (equivalent to 609 mm in 35mm format). The optical focal length can be further extended with a teleconverter: With the FUJINON XF1.4X TC WR, the lens achieves a focal length of 560 mm (equivalent to 853 mm in 35mm format), and with the FUJINON XF2X TC WR, it even reaches a focal length of 800 mm (equivalent to 1219 mm in 35 mm format). The optical design comprises 21 elements in 14 groups, including two Super ED and four ED lenses. The advanced design and intelligent arrangement of the special optical glass elements minimize chromatic aberration, which typically occurs in super-telephoto lenses, and ensure impressive resolution.

Compact and Lightweight

Splash- and Dust-Resistant

The lens features a splash- and dust-resistant housing with 20 sealing points and can be used in freezing temperatures as low as -10 °C. The front element is coated with a water- and dirt-repellent fluorine coating that is easy to clean. This ensures that the lens performs reliably even during extended use in harsh weather conditions.

Powerful Image Stabilizer

The optical image stabilizer allows for longer exposure times of up to 5.5 EV steps *2. Improved detection accuracy and an optimized mechanical design ensure highly precise compensation for unwanted movements. This allows you to capture sharp images even when shooting handheld with the long super-telephoto focal length.

Fast, Quiet, and Precise Autofocus

The lens’s internal focusing mechanism ensures consistently high optical performance across the entire focus range. A powerful linear motor moves the compact focus group quickly and almost silently. If needed, a specific focus setting can be saved and recalled using the focus preset button. When the button is pressed, the lens instantly focuses on the preset distance. This feature is particularly useful in situations where you need to focus on the same subject repeatedly. The focus range selection button *3 allows you to limit the distance range used by autofocus, enabling even faster focusing. This feature is most effective when photographing subjects exclusively at a distance of five meters or more. The focus control button, located on the front of the lens, can be used to activate a predefined AF function.
