It enables the use of up to four light levels longer exposure times, resulting in better low-light results and much sharper freehand shots throughout the Zoom range. Blur is significantly reduced, especially when shooting at telephoto. The image stabilizer also ensures a stable image during movie recording, improves image control even during camera panning, and operates extremely quietly.

Optimum image quality
This lens is matched to the current high-resolution image sensors of digital SLR cameras and offers excellent results throughout the Zoom range. In terms of optical construction, it features 17 lenses in 12 groups. An ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass lens and an aspherical lens provide high resolution and good contrast, while minimizing most types of aberration and color dispersion to a large extent.
