Distraction-free transitions
The 135mm Athena Prime has been carefully designed to minimize focus-breathing and provide filmmakers with a consistent field of view when focusing. This is critical to maintaining the integrity of the visual narrative and creating smooth, distraction-free transitions that captivate the audience. Although this lens is larger, the positions of the iris diaphragm and focus ring are the same as the rest of the Athena range, allowing for familiar and efficient operation, especially on fast-paced shoots.
300° rotating focus
ring The lens has a 77mm filter thread and 80mm barrel, which is in line with the rest of the series and facilitates the use of a wide range of lens accessories. The 300° rotating focus ring with fluorescent focus scales enables precise and effortless focusing, which is essential for capturing those fleeting moments in razor-sharp focus even in less than ideal lighting conditions.
Drop-in filter holder
The Athena Prime Lens series is equipped with a drop-in filter holder (L-, RF- and E-mount only; PL-mount is equipped with a rear filter holder), offering filmmakers a more flexible workflow and more creative control. This allows you to add ND filters, polarizing filters or other filters to achieve the look you want without having to attach filters to the front of the lens. This feature also enables quick and efficient filter changes, saving time and reducing the risk of lens damage.
