The world's first* LAOWA 90mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO for Micro Four Thirds opens up a new dimension in detail photography. Instead of ending at a reproduction scale of 1:1, this special lens enables an impressive 2x magnification and thus ultimate proximity to the subject. The apochromatic design ensures maximum clarity without color fringing, while the 180 mm KB equivalent also allows compressed portraits with exceptional precision.

Subjects can be photographed at twice their life size, opening up a unique perspective that goes far beyond the possibilities of conventional 1:1 macro lenses. Due to the crop factor of Micro Four Thirds, the magnification appears significantly greater than that of a full-frame

camera. 2x magnification is equivalent in effect to 4x magnification on full-frame cameras, for example. The advanced optical design with 13 elements in 10 groups was specifically developed to eliminate chromatic aberrations and ensure maximum color accuracy and high clarity - both at open aperture and stopped down.

The APO design plays a central role in this. Specially designed for the Micro-Four-Thirds mount, the lens offers a focal length of 180mm (KB equivalent) in a compact design. Nine AE aperture blades enable convenient aperture control directly via the camera body and contribute to a harmonious background image. Outstanding sharpness is achieved across the entire image area, complemented by a soft, appealing bokeh that is suitable for both professional macro and portrait photography.

The lens has a special manual focusing system (MF) with a minimum working distance of 205mm, which allows high-precision settings in the macro range. With a weight of around 540g, the lens is significantly smaller and lighter than comparable macro systems and is ideal for hand-held outdoor use. The lens length remains constant during focusing, which reliably prevents accidental contact with sensitive subjects.

The focus and aperture are set manually.
