The aperture can be adjusted in extremely small steps, making exposure changes almost stepless - another feature for professional video recording. Weighing only about 300g, the lens is so compact that it can easily be taken along to any shoot. Sophisticated lens design for best image quality

The LUMIX S 50mm F1.8 is composed of nine lens elements in eight groups, including three aspherical lenses, one ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lens, and one UHR (Ultra-High-Refractive Index) lens. The use of three aspherical lenses enables both high imaging performance and an attractive bokeh effect with smooth sharpness-blur transitions. The ED lens, in turn, effectively suppresses chromatic aberration. Finally, the nine circular aperture blades ensure particularly round imaging of point light sources.
