The 70-180mm F2.8 G2 is a further development of the first generation of the highly acclaimed 70-180mm Zoom lens, which has attracted a great deal of attention since its market launch and has now been improved in several respects.

The most significant innovation is the integration of the VC image stabilizer developed by TAMRON, which enables sharper images even at slower shutter speeds. Despite this new feature, the 70-180mm F2.8 G2 is still the most compact and lightest lens in its class.

The new lens design ensures comfortable operation and has a scratch-resistant surface. With its revised optical design, the 70-180mm F2.8 G2 achieves uncompromisingly high image quality across the entire focal length range.

At 70 mm, the shortest focusing distance is just 0.3 m, which represents an improvement of 0.55 m and significantly expands the creative application possibilities of the fast telephoto zoom lens. The new model version features TAMRON's proven VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) autofocus with linear motor, which focuses on the subject with lightning speed and precision in both photo and video.

The lens is compatible with the TAMRON Lens Utility and the TAMRON Lens Utility Mobile App. Both applications were developed by TAMRON. They enable user-defined configuration of the lens in order to optimally adapt its functionality to the respective shooting situation.
