EIZO CG319X ColorEdge 31"

DCI 4K resolution

The CG319X has a DCI 4K resolution of 4096 x 2160 (4K DCI), which is four times the pixel count of Full HD (1920 x 1080)

. This makes

the monitor the ideal tool for 2D and 3D CGI or visual effects - from compositing to color grading

.

Suitable for soft proofing

The EIZO CG319X complies with strict soft proofing specifications based on the ISO 12646 standard. This was the conclusion reached by the Fogra Forschungsgesellschaft Druck e.V. as part of the monitor test. The CG319X was therefore awarded the Fogra seal of approval "FograCert Softproof Monitor".

Outstanding image quality

The monitor impresses with the highest resolution (4096 x 2160 (4K DCI)), a very good contrast ratio of 1500:1 and a maximum brightness of 350 cd/m²

.

This allows you to edit graphics and images with pixel precision, for example. And: the text contours are clear and precise. The LCD module with IPS (Wide Gamut) panel allows a viewing angle of 178 degrees.

The wide

gamut

monitor reliably reproduces 98% of the DCI-P3 standard used in digital cinema and also supports the Rec. 2020 standard.

In

addition, the CG319X covers 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. If images captured in RAW format are converted to Adobe RGB, the monitor displays them with absolute color fidelity. The EIZO monitor also offers great advantages when printing: It covers almost the entire CMYK color space (for example, ISO Coated and U.S. Web Coated). You can see on the screen what the final print result will look like and save on proofs.

HDR gamma support

With HLG and PQ tone value curves, the CG319X meets the relevant standards for displaying and editing content in HDR (High Dynamic Range). Thanks to the optimized gamma curves, these come close to natural human colour perception. Production and post-production professionals can rely on the reliable display of HDR tone curves for editing and color grading.

True Black

With its high contrast ratio, the CG319X displays deep blacks, which often appear pale or washed out on a typical LCD monitor due to the backlight. This is particularly true when viewing the monitor from the side in dimly lit rooms. The CG series is equipped with a retardation film for this purpose, which enables this depth of black tones even at wide viewing angles.

Integrated sensor for self-calibration

The

built-in calibration sensor enables you to achieve maximum colour accuracy. The sensor is perfectly matched to the monitor, takes into account environmental influences such as light and correlates the center and edges of the picture.

The sensor is located in the housing frame and only extends for measurement. An external calibration device is therefore superfluous and the monitor's color accuracy is always optimal

.

The CG319X is equipped with the latest sensor technology, which enables recalibration during operation. This allows you to continue working with non-color-critical applications while the monitor calibrates itself. The sensor only takes up a small amount of space on the screen during calibration and therefore does not interfere. Calibration can also take place fully automatically at definable times, even if the computer is switched off or not connected to the monitor at all.

EIZO software for quick calibration and for printing

Good image processing is only possible on well-calibrated monitors. The usual software calibration takes a long time and requires specialist knowledge from the user. The CG319X is supplied with the ColorNavigator hardware calibration software. It can be carried out in just a few steps, even by users without in-depth specialist knowledge. Advanced users can specify brightness, gamma and white point and other calibration settings numerically as target values. Because calibration is performed via the monitor's hardware, it is loss-free and independent of the computer and graphics card. The CG319X fits perfectly into an existing system

and

the free Quick Color Match software helps users to see how their images will look when printed on their home Canon or Epson inkjet printer, even without in-depth color management knowledge. This means that the images can be optimized for the special properties of the selected photo paper before printing and expensive misprints can be avoided.

Smooth transitions and gradients thanks to 24-bit LUT and 10-bit mode

Thanks to a 10-bit colour display based on a 24-bit LUT, you can use a huge colour spectrum. This is made possible by the fast DisplayPort and HDMI connections in conjunction with Frame Rate Control. One billion colors are available to you simultaneously. That's 64 times as many colors as with 8-bit display. The color gradations are finer and the color distances between adjacent colors are smaller. Also important for post-production: the extended grayscale range. When the 10-bit greyscale range is activated, between 6% and 14% more greyscales are visible.

Perfect ex works

To ensure that a ColorEdge is ready for use straight out of the box, every single ColorEdge CG319X is individually measured and optimally adjusted at the factory. The gamma curves of the red, green and blue channels are closely checked and, if necessary, corrected. This unique EIZO factory calibration allows the user to use the monitor with the preset color spaces right out of the box. This elaborate factory calibration is also the reason why user recalibration with the ColorNavigator is so fast.

Calibration report

Each ColorEdge CG319X comes with an individual calibration report showing the measurement results of the monitor's factory calibration. The report documents the homogeneity, gamma curve, color space coverage and white point of the monitor.

Digital Uniformity Equalizer

Each individual monitor panel is precisely measured over its entire surface at the EIZO factory. Any inhomogeneities in brightness and color casts are detected and removed. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer) guarantees that identical colors always look the same over the entire service life of the monitor, regardless of where they are displayed.

This is

the only way to ensure precise image editing and retouching

.

Stable colour reproduction in just three minutes

With a conventional monitor, it takes at least 30 minutes for brightness, colour type and tonal values to stabilize. The ColorEdge CG319X, on the other hand, only needs three minutes, so that users can rely on reliable colors shortly after switching on the monitor.

Precise color reproduction thanks to high-resolution 3D LUT

The 3D LUT ensures the most precise tonal value assignment and extremely accurate color tone reproduction, which can be seen in the grey wedge, among other things. In LCDs, the brightness levels in relation to the image signal and the color mixing (addition) of red, green and blue vary from module to module. This can only be accurately recorded and controlled with the help of particularly precise measuring devices. EIZO therefore adjusts every monitor in the CG series and its colors and tone value curve at the factory. This ensures a consistent color temperature across the entire gray scale.

The

result: color reproduction is the same, precise and reliable for every single CG319X.

3D LUT also offers advantages when working with films: Using the ColorNavigator software supplied, you can emulate the coloration of film material. This allows you to see in advance how colors will be reproduced during playback. The 3D LUT also improves the additive color mixing of the monitor (mixture of red, green and blue). This is a key factor for the correct display of neutral grey tones.

3D LUT profiles for film production

Film emulation with 3D LUT ColorNavigator can use 3D LUT files from the color grading of films to generate data for emulation on the monitor. This film emulation is available for up to five monitor colour modes and is suitable for simulating the colouring of films

. Safe area

marker for a clear view

Ideal for subtitles and critical images: Thanks to the Safe Area Marker, you know which area of the scene is displayed in a different aspect ratio. You can therefore see immediately whether subtitles, texts or important picture elements are in the visible area. You can adjust the marker color, size and aspect ratio so that the marker is clearly visible in every picture.

Aspect marker

The

aspect marker can be used to display image areas of DCI 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) or 2K film material (2048 x 1080 pixels) that are displayed differently when played back on different devices with a different aspect ratio

.

4K-Zoom

To assess details and sharpness, you can quickly and easily zoom into different areas of the monitor image by selecting them directly in the monitor menu.

Luminance warning

The

brightness warning can be used to mark areas that exceed a certain brightness (300, 500, 1000 or 4000 cd/m²) when using PQ mode. These areas are marked in either yellow or magenta.

Gamut warning

The color gamut warning works in two modes: Rec. 2020 Image content that cannot be displayed in the Rec. 709 color space is displayed in grayscale. Alternatively, Rec. 709 clipping mode simulates how Rec. 2020 material would look on HDTV sets

.

Ideal for video and film production: HDMI

films are normally recorded at 24 fps. They therefore look unnatural when played back at 60 hz, which is standard for monitors. The monitor supports a frame rate of 24 and 60 Hz. You can view and edit your film material as it was recorded.

HDMI signals are supported with refresh rates of 60, 50, 30, 25 and 24 Hz. The monitor also features I/P conversion.

Color space presets for film and video production

Presets for the DCI-P3, Rec. 709 and Rec. 2020 color spaces are precisely calibrated at the factory and ensure you work with the correct gamma values. In addition, color modes for PQ (DCI and Rec. 2100) and HLG (Rec. 2100) for displaying HDR content are also preset at the factory. The colour modes can be conveniently changed at the touch of a button on the monitor and recalibrated with ColorNavigator if required

.

One monitor, many connections

It couldn't be simpler: you can connect most of your end devices such as PCs, laptops or cameras directly to the monitor, as the monitor has various interfaces

.

The CG319X supports a wide range of video formats up to 10-bit 4:4:4 at 50/60p via DisplayPort input and 10-bit 4:2:2 at 50/60 Hz via HDMI. This means that the CG319X can not only be integrated into PC-based workflows, but can also be used with HDMI players.

Flicker-free working

The monitor is flicker-free at any brightness setting

. The

advantage: the eyes do not tire so quickly and you can work longer without strain on the screen.

Anti-glare: more image, less reflection

The CG319X offers an optimally anti-glare surface. By minimizing reflections through the scattering of reflected light, the CG319X effectively prevents glare and eyestrain. Eye fatigue is reduced and you can sit comfortably in front of the monitor without being forced into a position to avoid glare.

Light protection hood

The light protection hood reduces reflections and brightness on the screen and protects your eyes

. It is

easy to put on and reduces the incidence of light from above and the sides
