Tamron 16-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO
This powerful megazoom starts at an unprecedented 16mm and delivers high flexibility in all situations with a telephoto focal length of 300mm. By integrating the PZD ultrasonic motor (Piezo Drive) and VC image stabilization, Tamron not only expands the performance of this all-around lens, but also opens up special possibilities to make photography more convenient, enjoyable and accessible.
An extended flexibility from wide angle to telephoto
This megazoom pushes the boundaries of conventional travel zooms at both wide angle and telephoto. With a minimum focal length of 16mm (equivalent to a 24.8mm angle of view in 35mm) to a maximum focal length of 300mm (equivalent to a 465mm angle of view), this remarkable lens offers a Zoomfactor of 18.8x.
As such, it meets the demand of many customers for increased flexibility. Whether it's the extended wide-angle or the long 300mm telephoto, the desired Zoomfactor can be easily and quickly selected with a slight twist.
Sophisticated and reliable image quality in a general-purpose lens
The 16-lens, 12-group lens design includes three aspherical elements, one hybrid aspherical element, two LD (Low Dispersion) and one XR (Extra Refractive Index) glass elements, and one UXR (Ultra-Extra Refractive Index) glass, which has an even larger refractive index than XR glass.
Extensive use of special glass elements effectively minimizes optical aberrations. In addition, coating technologies enable amazing anti-reflective properties, minimizing unwanted stray light as well as ghosting. Overall, the use of the special glass and coatings ensures sharp and high-contrast images at all times.
A special design approach to the construction of an ultra-compact lens
Optical technologies have been used to enable the extended focal length range in terms of wide-angle and telephoto compared to the previous model, and without significantly changing the size in the process. By using UXR glass to reduce the lens diameter, an optimized arrangement of aspherical elements, the use of a 5-lens group Zoomsystem for greater design flexibility, a sophisticated mechanical design, and high-precision manufacturing techniques, it was possible to combine this unprecedented Zoomrange with outstanding image quality in a compact body.
Close focusing distance of only 39 cm for macro photography
The lens offers a close focusing distance of 0.39 m over the entire Zoomrange, with a maximum magnification of 1:2.9. This makes it even easier to get up close and personal with exciting details.
PZD (Piezo Drive): The fast and quiet autofocus
The PZD ( Piezo Drive)*1, an advanced ultrasonic motor with a standing shaft, acts very quickly and quietly. It works perfectly together with a contrast autofocus, so that focusing is smoother even in live view mode.
In addition, the Tamron 16-300mm, in contrast to the previous model, also offers the possibility of manual focusing at any time.
Sharper images thanks to VC ( Vibration Compensation)
The proven Tamron VC image stabilizer ( Vibration Compensation*2) ensures sharp and blur-free images in this lens. This means that the long telephoto focal length can also be used perfectly for hand-held shots.
The special lens construction provides a remedy against the penetration of splash water
The elaborate lens construction is splash-proof. This makes the lens ideal for even the most demanding outdoor photography.
Modern Design
Tamron has further upgraded the lens design and processing to be in line with the requirements of demanding DSLR users. The newly conceived design with adapted Zoom and focus rubberizations as well as a brand ring in noble "Tungsten-Silver" convinces with simple, modern elegance.
