The Panasonic Lumix G91 is a rugged, splash-proof camera for any shooting situation. Now in a set with the high-quality wide-angle lens for exceptional shots.
Panasonic LUMIX G91 Body
For videography, it offers 4K up to 30p with no time limit, Full HD including slow motion, microphone, headphone jack and VlogL. Proven 4K photo modes include 30fps for capturing fleeting moments with picture accuracy. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi make it easy to share pictures on the go, and the USB charging function makes it independent of the power grid.
Outstanding image quality and super-fast autofocus
The G91's 20-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor operates without a low-pass filter to ensure the greatest possible detail. Combined with the Venus Engine image processor, this produces natural, true-to-life images with a wide dynamic range.
For blur-free shots, the LUMIX G91 features 5-axis Dual I.S. image stabilization, which combines optical and sensor stabilization. It corrects motion blur in freehand long exposures by up to 5 EV stops. The G91's image stabilization ensures stable images in both stills and video, including 4K video.
High-speed autofocus (AF) with a response time of just 0.07 s and high-speed continuous shooting at 9 fps (AF-S) or 6 fps (AF-C) are best suited for sharp images of fast-moving subjects. With Depth From Defocus (DFD) technology, the G91 tracks moving subjects with confidence. Here, the AF sensitivity setting can be adjusted as needed to match the movement of the subject.
Face/Eye Detection AF automatically detects human faces for targeted focusing. Other focusing modes such as Pinpoint AF for pinpoint focus orientation and Low Light AF for low-light conditions complete the offering. A user-definable Custom Multi AF allows users to select specific differently positioned blocks from 49 focus detection areas. For manual focusing, Focus Peaking facilitates accurate focusing.
Design and ergonomics improved
The design of the LUMIX G91 has been revised for easier operation. Three new buttons for exposure, ISO, and white balance, arranged in a row on top of the camera, allow quickest access. Rear buttons around the thumbwheel allow quick access to various settings during shooting and playback. The front and rear dials on the top right of the G91 are used for direct setting of shooting parameters and can be configured individually.
Image control is optionally via the large OLED live viewfinder with 2.36 million pixels, 100% field of view and 0.74x magnification or the fold-out and tiltable 7.5 cm OLED touchscreen monitor with 1.04 pixels.
The G91's redesigned body construction features a full die-cast magnesium alloy front frame. The redesigned grip provides a more comfortable and secure hold when shooting. Seals protect all body connections, dials and buttons from dust and splash water1 ingress, so the LUMIX G91 can be used in adverse environments.
1 Dust- and splash-proof does not mean that damage will not occur if the camera is exposed to direct contact with dust and water.
Variable video functions
Using the HDMI output and an (optional) HDMI cable, the video signal in 4:2:2 / 8bit2 can also be output to an external monitor during recording. V-Log L for a wider dynamic range for color representation in post-production is pre-installed. A 3.5 mm microphone jack for high-quality audio recording and a headphone jack are also provided.
TheG91 is also equipped with the familiar 4K photo modes of LUMIX cameras. They allow you to extract fleeting moments at 30fps from a 4K video. This is now even easier thanks to the new Auto Marking function, which automatically detects changes in the image content and marks new scenes. The G91 also allows you to create "stromotion" images by combining multiple frames into one shot to create this unusual effect.

Creative composition options
By using Depth From Defocus (DFD) autofocus technology and combining it with 4K Photo, the G91 offers the ability to change the focus point after shooting (Post Focus mode). The Focus Stacking function expands the depth of field by combining multiple images. Users can also shoot a maximum of 999 images with graduated focus using the Focus Bracketing function to create images with different depth of field.
Complementing the many photo styles familiar from LUMIX cameras, the G91 allows users to capture dynamic monochrome images with special emphasis on highlights and shadows while preserving details. L.Monochrome D complements the standard Monochrome and L.Monochrome and offers even more differentiated darker areas. All monochrome modes can be combined with a grain effect to achieve image results with an analog film look.
The newly added LiveView Composite recording function is useful for capturing fireworks or stars in the night sky, for example. This function releases the shutter at specific intervals and combines various subject details with high brightness in a single image against a consistently dark background.
Powerful performance
With the G91, Panasonic introduces a power-saving function that automatically puts the camera to sleep after a period of inactivity detected by the eye sensor. A light tap on the shutter release button immediately makes the camera ready to shoot again. This provides an enduring battery life of approximately 900 images per charge.(3)
The battery grip (DMW-BGG1) is available for even more power. In addition to extending battery life, it offers a range of additional controls for more convenient portrait shooting. Like the G91, the DMW-BGG1 features a rugged, splash- and dust-proof housing.(4)
With built-in Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 2.4 GHz, friends and family can always be kept up to date with the latest shots. Bluetooth Low Energy enables constant connectivity with minimal power consumption for easy and fast image transfer, as well as optional automatic GPS tagging (via a smartphone, for example).
(3) Under test conditions according to LUMIX and CIPA standards when the power saving function is set to 3 seconds.
(4) Dust and splash proof does not mean that no damage will occur if the camera is exposed to direct contact with dust and water.
Its 113-degree angle of view opens up quite extraordinary perspectives for photographers. With an overall length of 60mm and a diameter of only 53mm, it is ultra-compact and extremely lightweight, weighing only 215 grams. This makes it the ideal companion for mirrorless system cameras. It fits in any photo bag and even still feels at home in your pants pocket. Thanks to the small front lens, all conventional screw-in filters with a diameter of only 49mm can be used without vignetting.
Two aspherical lenses and three ultra-low dispersion lenses reduce both chromatic aberration and optical distortion to an absolute minimum. In addition, this design ensures excellent sharpness right into the corners of the image.
The LAOWA 9mm f/2.8 ZERO-D is also ideal for video photographers - both freehand and with a gimbal. Focusing is manual, as is the aperture setting.
