The focal length of the Irix Cine 45mm T1.5 lens is a special element. Shortened to 45mm compared to the classic "fifty" while maintaining a natural perspective for human vision, it provides the opportunity to pursue a more comprehensive plan. Filming scenes seen through the eyes of the hero forces more frequent focusing, that's why the effect of breathing with "focal length" was reduced to an absolute minimum.
Robust film lens
Irix Cine 45mm T1.5 is a cinematographic lens with a focal length of 45mm and a transmission value of T1.5, designed for filming in Ultra HD 8K resolution. The entire lens system consists of 11 elements that have been arranged in 9 groups to deliver a crystalline image that is free of geometric distortion and full of the smallest details. In addition, four high-index glass lenses, one low-dispersion and one aspherical, among others, have been used. The whole thing is complemented by the aperture mechanism, whose 9 rounded blades ensure a very soft background blur and a uniform adjustment of the lens brightness in the range from T1.5 to T22.
