Compact and lightweight telephoto zoom that is very portable and renders detailed images.
The G lens from Sony is a full-frame telephoto zoom for the E bayonet. The constant F4 aperture throughout the focal length range makes it the ideal companion when shooting sports and wildlife. The optical design includes AA (advanced aspherical) elements as well as Super ED and ED glass elements. The Sony-developed Nano AR coating on the crucial lenses reduces ghosting effects and ensures the best contrast values. In the field, photographers will appreciate the focus point lock button mounted on the lens barrel. The options for narrowing the focus field are also helpful. In addition, a separate switch makes it easier to pull along with fast-moving subjects.
The optical image stabilization "Optical SteadyShot" is worth its weight in gold, especially in the telephoto range. Like all other lenses, the telephoto zoom is also protected against splash water and dust.
Fine detail at every focal length - Two aspherical glass elements and three aspherical elements in the lens compensate for blur and distortion, and ensure detailed and rich colors.
Shoot without noise even in low light - The constant maximum aperture of F2.8 enables fast shutter speeds without needlessly increasing ISO sensitivity.
Take control - Thanks to the focus hold button, focus range limiter and pan mode switch, photographers have even more options.
Fast, brilliant autofocus - The ultrasonic motor provides quiet, powerful autofocus, further optimizing focusing speed at telephoto.
No light reflections and ghost effects - The lens features a white Nano-AR (anti-reflective) coating for clear and sharp images with minimal light reflections and ghost effects.
Sharp images - Optical SteadyShot reduces camera shake during handheld shooting for improved results when zooming in or out.
Creative control - Use the convenient focus ring to manually tweak your shots and experiment with blur effects using the three focus buttons.
Achieve beautiful bokeh effects - Adjustable circular aperture lets you capture foreground subjects in focus against a blurred background.
Ready to go right out of the box - As soon as the camera is turned on, the lens is ready to go.
