FUJIFILM X-T30 II - lightweight and compact system camera with fast autofocus, touchscreen and 4K video
FUJIFILM expands the X series with the lightweight and compact mirrorless system camera FUJIFILM X-T30 II. The model offers high image quality and legendary FUJIFILM colors, as well as several advanced automatic functions and a manual mode. This makes the camera the ideal choice for all beginners and advanced photographers who want to capture high-quality images as uncomplicatedly as possible.
The FUJIFILM X-T30 II combines the compactness of the previous model X-T30 with the features of the current flagship FUJIFILM X-T4. Thus, a high-resolution 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and the proven X-Processor 4 work in the 378-gram body - a combination that also ensures, among other things, lightning-fast and pinpoint automatic focusing. The phase autofocus focuses on the subject in just 0.02 seconds and even works in the dark down to -7.0 EV* to reliably focus on objects indoors as well as during twilight.
Among the highlights of this powerful camera model is the enhanced automatic function. The popular AUTO mode has been given a better algorithm, which now analyzes the subject scene even better in order to then select the optimum camera settings in each case in a fraction of a second. This makes it very easy to take landscape photos with rich colors or portraits with beautiful skin tones, for example.
With the help of the 18 film simulations, the shots can be given an individual look that suits the scene in question. Choices include "Classic Neg." for snapshots and "ETERNA Bleach Bypass" for an expressive color effect. In addition, a brilliant 1.62-million-pixel LCD touchscreen and 4K/30p-quality video and spectacular slow-motion effects add excitement to shooting or filming.
Fast and precise autofocus
Almost the entire area of the FUJIFILM X-T30 II's 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor is populated with fast phase AF pixels. In combination with the powerful image processor X-Processor 4, lightning-fast autofocus is possible, focusing on the subject in up to 0.02 seconds. Phase AF guarantees precise focus even in near-total darkness down to -7.0 EV*.
An advanced AF algorithm ensures precise focus tracking when tracking dynamic subjects. Objects moving toward or away from the camera are reliably detected while the focus setting is continuously adjusted.
Advanced continuous shooting mode
The X-T30 II offers a fast continuous shooting speed. With mechanical shutter, up to 8 frames per second are possible. With electronic shutter, even 30 frames per second are achieved without viewfinder blackout.
Multiple film simulations
The X-T30 II offers 18 film simulations that digitally simulate the colors, gradations and tones of classic analog film. Choices include "Classic Neg." for the typical look of popular negative films or "ETERNA Bleach Bypass" for a creative developing effect. The advanced film simulations allow users to select an image style that best suits the shooting situation and mood - just as in the past, a different film could simply be inserted to achieve a specific effect.
Advanced AUTO functions
The popular AUTO mode, in which the camera automatically selects the settings that best suit the scene, features an algorithm that offers even better image quality than its predecessor. When the mode is activated, the Color Chrome effect (blue), clarity, dynamic range priority and other settings are now also adjusted depending on the shooting situation, for example to make landscape photos appear more brilliant, the sky blue more vibrant or skin tones more beautiful. In addition, the dynamic range is adjusted in backlit shots to prevent loss of detail in highlights and shadows. The AUTO function now makes it even easier to take beautiful pictures in different shooting situations.
Extensive video functions
The X-T30 II can record high-resolution 4K/30p video at 8-bit 4:2:0 to the inserted memory card or output at 10-bit 4:2:2 via the HDMI terminal. The oversampling of the sensor's 6K data achieves exceptionally high image quality. In high-speed mode, impressive slow motion with 10x deceleration is achieved with Full HD and 240 frames per second.
Convenient and easy operation
The camera offers various shooting modes, including the ability to control exposure completely manually using the shutter speed dial, as well as a fully automatic AUTO mode for spontaneous snapshots. The shutter speed dial makes it very easy to read the selected exposure time, even when the camera is turned off. The Auto mode selector switch on the top of the camera lets you quickly switch between automatic and manual modes.
The premium LCD touchscreen, which renders the image with 1.62 million pixels of maximum brilliance and sharpness, allows convenient control of the image result even while shooting.
New generation standard lens: the FUJINON XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR with high resolution and fast autofocus
With the FUJINON XF33mm F1.4 R LM WR, FUJIFILM presents a first-class fast standard lens for mirrorless system cameras of the X series. Like the fixed focal lengths FUJINON XF18mm F1.4 R LM WR and FUJINON XF23mm F1.4 R LM WR, it belongs to a new generation of lenses developed with future camera sensors with even higher resolution in mind. Even at F1.4 open aperture, these lenses offer outstanding resolving power.
The first-class 33 mm fixed focal length (equivalent to 50 mm KB) can be used in a wide range of applications. The high F1.4 aperture provides additional flexibility in difficult lighting conditions, and also allows for shots with exceptionally beautiful bokeh. A fast and pinpoint autofocus ensures reliable focus in both photo and video shooting. The XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR follows in the tradition of the X series, which offers not only excellent image quality, but also a handy design. The compact and robustly built lens has a splash-proof and dust-proof housing. It weighs only about 360 grams and is 73.5 mm long with a filter diameter of 58 mm.
Brilliant image quality
The optical construction of the XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR includes 15 elements in ten groups. Two aspherical lenses and three ED lenses effectively minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations. Even at F1.4 open aperture, a consistently high resolving power is achieved across the entire image area, regardless of the shooting distance. Two ED lenses and an aspherical lens placed in the focus group at the front of the lens prevent unwanted variations in imaging performance at different shooting distances. This ensures superior image quality from the shortest setting distance to "infinity" (∞).
Universal standard focal length
The XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR offers the popular standard focal length of 50mm (KB equivalent). This focal length is closest to the usual viewing impression, as the size ratios of objects at different distances correspond to natural perception. The lens is thus suitable for a wide range of shooting situations, from portraits to reportage and landscape photography.
The standard focal length stands for a conscious concentration on the essence of photography. It frees the photographer from unnecessary options and, with a more careful composition of the image, supports its effect, which is enhanced by the skillful choice of perspective and subject cropping. These compositional options are further enhanced by the lens' short close-up distance. The shortest focusing distance is only 30 cm. This corresponds to a maximum magnification of 0.15 times.
Fast, precise and silent autofocus
The XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR features internal focusing, in which the lightweight focus group is precisely and silently moved to the desired position by a linear motor. Autofocus quickly focuses on the subject in up to 0.04 seconds*, so the exposure is always made at the decisive moment.
When shooting moving subjects in AF-C mode, the focus remains stable on the main subject. This guarantees sharp images even in dynamic situations. Regardless of the shooting distance, the imaging performance of the lens remains constantly high from the shortest setting distance to "infinity" (∞). Focus breathing is so low that the lens is also suitable for demanding moving images.
Manual focusing made easy
The setting accuracy of the focus ring has been improved, making manual focusing easier at shallow depth of field. An optimized gear ratio ensures that focus adjustment is absolutely smooth, even with minimal effort. The focus ring also features revised knurling, the grooves of which are now easier to clean.
Compact, lightweight and robust housing
With a weight of just 360 grams, a length of just 73.5 mm and a filter size of 58 mm, the XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR is exceedingly handy. The slim and stylish design was achieved by a focus group with a small lens diameter and a space-saving AF linear motor arrangement.
The robust lens is sealed against moisture and dust at eleven points and can be used down to minus 10 degrees Celsius without restriction. This means that photographs can be taken even in wind, rain and freezing cold. The aperture ring can be secured using an automatic locking mechanism (A Position Lock) to prevent accidental adjustment of the shooting parameters.
