The phenomenon of ever-increasing light smog not only degrades the quality of nocturnal city and architectural photographs, even scientific astrophotography is virtually impossible in urban conurbations. Therefore, the large reflecting telescopes are located on mountain tops, islands or in deserted areas without perceptible light pollution. Now "normal" professional and amateur photographers can use the new Rollei Astroklar circular filter to reduce the undesirable effect of light pollution and give their photographs more contrast and clarity.

Works reliably against light pollution

Thanks to a special coating, the new Rollei Astroklar round filter almost completely reduces the unwanted yellow and orange components of the light and ensures that even difficult structures and transitions are still displayed normally and do not "break out". The night and starry sky, partially or insufficiently illuminated building panoramas gain significantly in contrast and definition, even very distant and barely visible stars can appear clearly and distinctly on the astro photo. Your images will turn out a bit cooler, due to the special anti-light smog coating,the blue and green parts understandably predominate. To counteract this, you should perform a manual white balance when working with the astro clear filter. It is best to select a color temperature between +700 K and +1,500 K of the white balance performed without the filter to obtain authentic colors in the final result.

The remarkable everyday usability of the new Rollei Astroklar round filter is ensured by a complex nano-coating on both sides of the high-quality optical glass. This coating permanently reduces unwanted light reflections, which can ruin the entire exposure, especially during long exposures at night. Furthermore, the protective coating repels water, dirt and oil almost like a magnet; you simply remove any residue with a quick wipe of the care and cleaning cloth. The anti light smog coating of the Astroklar round filters results in a reduction of the general light transmission by a 2/3 f-stop/stop. Regardless of whether you use the filter individually or in combination with other optics, using a tripod and a cable or wireless shutter release ensures that you can save not only detailed and high-contrast astro or nighttime images, but also razor-sharp images to your camera's memory card.
