The mount of this fast 50mm lens is spherical and so the lens can be tilted in all directions by up to 15 degrees. This mechanism can be locked with a locking ring. In the normal setting without tilt, the lens is a fast universal normal lens. For tilt, the lens can be tilted up to ±15 degrees in all directions

(It should be noted, however, that slight vignetting may occur in the corners of full-frame sensors when tilting). Tilting allows the focal plane to be tilted. Sharp captured subjects can thus be kept in focus from front to back, even at full aperture.
