One lens with two fisheye effects
Shoot with a full 180° angle of view (horizontal, vertical, and diagonal) at 8mm focal length, while easily switching to full frame with a 180° diagonal angle of view at 15mm focal length.
Push boundaries
Achieve exceptional images at the highest resolution that retain sharpness right to the edge of the frame, even at the open aperture of 1:3.5. Three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass lenses minimize color fringing caused by lateral chromatic aberration, and two aspherical lenses reduce coma and other aberrations. In addition, thanks to the Nikon nanocrystal coating, ghosting and flare are almost completely eliminated throughout the field of view, even when backlit.
Sharp close-ups
The outstanding image quality does not change even at close-up. The closest focusing distance of 0.16 m and a magnification factor of 0.34 make it possible to photograph subjects about 3 cm from the front lens surface without compromising peripheral resolving power!
Impressive AF performance
Extremely fast and quiet autofocus and reliable exposure control demonstrate professionalism. Nikons Silent Wave Motor (SWM) provides super fast and quiet autofocus with seamless manual override. With a special focusing ring, the lens is equipped for manual focusing. Uniform exposure results are enabled by the lens' electromagnetic iris control.
Reliable use - in wind and weather
The rugged, dust- and drip-resistant construction withstands even problematic weather, and the weather-resistant design prevents the lens from being damaged by dust and water droplets. Image quality doesn't suffer either, thanks to the dust-. water- and dirt-repellent Nikon fluorine coating.
A combination of lens hood and lens cap
A quick response to special shooting opportunities can be critical to getting the perfect image. This lens keeps you flexible by allowing you to attach or detach the lens cap and hood in a single movement. For full-frame fisheye shots, you can use the lens hood when shooting and easily remove it to switch to the circular perspective. The lens cap attaches to the hood and the hood attaches to the lens. You can attach or detach the lens cap and lens hood together or just the lens cap.
