Whether shooting stills or movies, the outstanding resolving power of this S-series lens delivers images with beautiful bokeh, color, contrast and clarity. Nikons powerful optical image stabilizer in the lens ensures blur-free shots. The f/4.5 aperture offers many opportunities to be creative with the available light. The autofocus works very quickly, precisely and particularly quietly. In addition, this super telephoto lens supports the use of Z teleconverters, so that the range can be extended to 560 mm or 800 mm.

The advanced and innovative lens design places the lens' center of gravity closer to the camera body, making it easier to track, pan and stop. Photographers and shooters can hold the lens in a more comfortable position when shooting handheld, and get into position more quickly to capture fleeting moments. The controls are fully customizable. Highly effective weather sealing protects both the lens and the transition to the camera.

The Nikon Nano Crystal Coat supports the optical design by providing highly effective reduction of ghosting and flare, even with light entering the lens at an angle. Super ED, ED and SR glass grades minimize chromatic aberration from the center of the image to the edges.
