Sigma 90mm f2.8 DG DN © L-mount

The SIGMA I-Series is a line of compact, beautifully designed high-performance lenses for mirrorless camera systems. The 90mm prime lens combines outstanding resolving power with a small body perfectly weighted for mirrorless systems.

The 90mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary prime lens brings superior optical performance, a fast F2.8 aperture, all-metal construction, and an aperture ring. It was designed from the ground up for mirrorless systems and is perfectly balanced to work with modern full-frame cameras. Its high resolving power meets all the demands of the latest camera models with extremely high megapixel counts.

Its versatile telephoto focal length is the longest focal length yet among I-series lenses, yet the lens remains remarkably lightweight and compact, so it can accompany you everywhere in everyday life. Optimized in every way for use in mirrorless systems, it focuses quickly and confidently with autofocus and shines with its optical performance. Its pleasantly soft background bokeh makes it the ideal portrait lens, and the 50 cm close-up limit allows photographers to get closer to their subject.

New optical performance standards
The optical design uses the most advanced technology, including five SLD lenses. This reduces longitudinal chromatic aberration, which cannot be corrected in-camera, resulting in high resolution and clear detail without color fringing. At the same time, an asphere that has been blank-pressed with great precision ensures high contrast transfer of the finest details in the focus zone and beautiful bokeh without colored artifacts in the out-of-focus background - bokeh that only a full-frame lens can produce.

The lens is also calculated with in-camera correction in mind. This strategy has allowed our lens designers to focus on correcting those aberrations that can only be corrected optically, improving overall imaging performance while reducing the dimensions and weight of the lens.

With a closest focusing distance of 50 cm and a maximum magnification of 1:5, macro photography is also possible.

Outstanding I-series manufacturing quality
All I-Series lenses are all-metal constructions. The precision machined aluminum components not only give the barrel a sleek and elegant finish, but also ensure excellent durability, enhancing quality of the entire product. Metal is also used for the internal construction, which provides additional robustness. These high-precision components made with the innovative metal processing technology are also built into the cine lenses for professional filmmakers. Among other things, they ensure that the focus ring runs smoothly and that the aperture clicks into place smoothly yet almost silently, and this attention to haptics and ergonomics makes working with the lens a pleasure.

High-quality coating
An ideal lens directs incident light through all the lenses and onto the sensor.

If, on the other hand, part of the light is reflected by individual lenses, not only does the light yield decrease; the reflections within the lens create ghost images and aperture spots or they reduce the contrast. Such effects would be particularly noticeable in backlit shots.

To prevent this, the 90mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary uses a Super Multi-Layer Coating (SML) that reduces flare and ghosting. The result is clear, sharp, high-contrast images without distracting lens flares.

For full-frame cameras
The 90mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary is compatible with full-frame mirrorless cameras with L-mount.

A stepper motor is used for fast focusing. Auto focus with automatic eye detection used in newer mirrorless cameras is also supported, making precise focusing of portraits, for example, a breeze.
