The compact XA70 delivers high-quality 4K UHD video recording. In addition to excellent oversampling HD processing, Dual Pixel CMOS AF, Canon lens with 15x optical Zoom, and UVC HD live streaming (1) via USB-C through a computer, recordings can also be recorded in XF-AVC or MP4 format.
The 4K 1.0-inch type CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 image processor deliver stunning 4K UHD and superb Full HD recording. By oversampling the sensor data, the camcorder also delivers top-notch Full HD video.
The Canon lens covers a focal length range of 25.5 to 382 mm (equivalent to full-frame KB). Digital zoom delivers 300x magnification with 5-axis image stabilization.
Adjustable focus speed and Dual Pixel CMOS AF enable fast, precise focusing. On the 3.5-inch LCD screen, you can set the desired focus point by touch. Face detection AF and face tracking are available, while the focus/Zoomring allows manual focusing.
For recording format, you can choose between XF-AVC and MP4. The camcorder records XF-AVC 4K UHD at 160 Mbps and 25p, and Full HD at 45 Mbps and 50p/50i/25p. If smaller files are desired, MP4 4K at 150 Mbps and 25p and Full HD at 35/17 Mbps and 50p/25p are available.
Recording options include simultaneous backup and continuous recording via two SD cards, as well as infrared mode. Slow-motion recording in Full HD at half speed or time-lapse recording in 4K/Full HD at up to 1,200x speed are also available. Color matching with other Canon cameras is possible via the custom image settings menu.
You can live stream HD video via UVC (1) with a computer and also add a date and time stamp if needed. Two XLR connectors on the detachable handle and 4-channel linear PCM also provide professional audio options.
