People can be tracked even if they are wearing a mask, helmet or sunglasses. When shooting motorsports, the EOS R3 can detect motorcycles and race cars and even distinguish between closed and open cockpits and recognize the driver's helmet when it is visible.

The EOS R3 offers a wired LAN port as well as 2.4/5 GHz WLAN to communicate with computer networks, laptops and mobile devices - making it quick and easy to share your shots. The EOS R3 is also compatible with our Mobile File Transfer app, which allows professionals to add metadata and transfer footage to a smartphone for forwarding, from where it can be sent via Wi-Fi connection or mobile network.

In addition, the EOS R3 features the new Multi-Function Accessory Shoe, which provides data communication and power for new accessories while also serving as a hot shoe for existing Speedlites and remote triggers

The EOS R3 fits seamlessly into your existing EOS system and complements your other mirrorless or DSLR cameras.

It is powered by a powerful LP-E19 battery. This is the same battery model found in our EOS-1D X cameras. With a range of high-quality adapters to be had with extra features like a control ring or filters, your existing EF lenses will also work exactly as they should.

Responsive configurable controls

The EOS R3 is a professional through and through.

Its shape was inspired by the cameras in the EOS-1D X series. However, it is smaller and lighter and uses the design principles of the EOS R mirrorless system for superior handling.

The camera offers diverse controls, with both the Multi-Controller and Smart Controller within intuitive thumb reach. Three configurable dials on the camera, as well as the lens control ring on an RF lens, make it easy to set shutter speed, aperture, ISO and exposure compensation without taking the camera from your eye.

The EOS R3 also features a high-resolution rotating and tilting display with four million pixels that is clear and brilliantly legible even in bright ambient light. This allows you to easily compose your images from creative perspectives. Two card slots let you write photo and video files to popular SD cards (with support for UHS-II) or the super-fast next-generation CFexpress cards.
