Gekauft als leichtes Teleobjektiv für die EOS R7 ohne Adapter. Geringes Gewicht, gute Schärfe, ideal für Tierfotografie bei Tageslicht. Einzig die Lichtstärke könnte etwas besser sein.
als Hobbyfotograf habe ich mir dieses Objektiv zugelegt, da ich dZt. kpl. von EF auf RF umsteige. Die Leistung des Fokus hat mich doch sehr überrascht
Die Abbildungsqualität ist zwar nicht bahnbrechend, aber mittig doch sehr gut. An den Rändern fällt sie ab, doch meine Ausrichtung liegt auf Wildlife und Sport, da fällt das nicht so ins Gewicht. Die geringe Lchtstärke ist dabei ein Punkt, der etwas weh tut, dafür ist die Stabilisierung klasse. Bei bewegten Objekten hilft das zwar nicht viel, aber ich konnte ein statisches Motiv aufgestützt bei 400 mm 1/10 Sekunde belichten, das ist schon außergewöhnlich gut.
Das Objektiv ist wegen seiner leichten Bauweise in meinen Fokus gerückt. Normalerweise fotografiere ich mit dem Sigma 60-600, das wiegt aber fast 3 Kilo. Immer mit einem schweren Fotorucksack unterwegs zu sein, ist mit meinem lädierten Knie derzeit nicht mehr möglich. Da ist das RF 100-400 viel angenehmer. Es hat natürlich nicht ganz die Bildqualität, den Brennweitenbereich und leider auch nicht den Wetterschutz des Bigma, was im Wildlifebereich schon wehtut. Es kostet aber eben auch nur ein Drittel dessen. Dabei ist die fehlende Streulichtblende bei Canon in dieser Preisklasse leider üblich und ärgerlich.
Der Autofokus ist an sich sehr schnell. Hat man aber auf die volle Brennweite von 400 mm ausgefahren, kann es passieren, dass er überhaupt keinen Fokuspunkt findet, dann muss man etwas zurückfahren und erneut fokussieren. Insgesamt würde ich ihn dennoch als schnell und gut einstufen.
Fazit: Durch das geringe Gewicht, die ordentliche Bildqualität, dem außerordentlich guten Stabilisator ist das Objektiv in vielen Bereichen eine Alternative zu teureren (und schwereren) Modellen.
Das Teleobjektiv ist für die Tier- und Naturfotografie gut geeignet. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Natürlich ist es nicht das lichtstärkste.
