Due to its light weight (460 g) and small dimensions (length: 120 mm, width: 96-114 mm), these binoculars will fit in any backpack and won't get in the way even on longer trips. The diopter for focusing is located on the right eyepiece . Operating errors are excluded due to the simplicity of this design. Spectacle wearers can comfortably adjust the eyepieces that a perfect interpupillary distance is achieved and a loss of the wide field of view (150.5 m) is avoided. The grid positions can be fixed firmly. Unintentional adjustment is impossible due to the cleanly defined mechanics.

While the EDX 8x30 is based on the tried and tested roof prism system (Schmidt Pechan), the glass types used for these binoculars have been completely newly developed. This innovative ED glass (extra low dispersion) reduces color fringes even better than previously used ED glasses. The user benefits with perfectly matched and brilliant colors. The PHC140 phase correction coating, newly developed for the EDX 8x30, suppresses 99 percent of all undesirable wave-optical effects and thus prevents even the smallest blurs.

Innovative coating guarantees razor-sharp contours
With the EDX 8x30, the optical image is reproduced with maximum resolution and without edge blurring in accordance with the current state of the art. This is guaranteed by the special DDlucid coating, which is additionally applied to both roof surfaces of the Schmidt-Pechan roof prism. This coating, which originated in the Japanese photographic industry, is a further development of the well-known and proven ELR coating (Extra Low Reflection). DDlucid is one of the most effective binocular coatings. Currently, only premium binoculars have such similarly advanced coatings.

Lightweight all-round binoculars into the night - The EDX Binoculars 8x30
During the development of the binoculars, DDoptics placed great emphasis on a particularly large field of view in addition to high-quality workmanship and coating. The result is a field of view of 150.5 m for the "EDX 8x30", which meets even the most demanding expectations. This allows the user to observe objects at a distance of 1,000 m and at a glance in a space whose dimensions are approximately one and a half times the length of a soccer field. This is a record for binoculars in the 8x30 category. It should be emphasized that despite the large field of view, hardly any distortions can be detected and the image is sharp right to the edges.

Best close-up properties
The sharpness range of the "EDX 8x30 / 10x30" already begins at 1.3 m. This means that an adult person can clearly see the tips of his or her own feet, for example. Thus, these binoculars are predestined for high demands in the observation of animals, birds and insects. Due to the high resolution and sharpness up to the edge, details are clearly visible.

Robust and technically perfect
For alpinists and outdoor enthusiasts, the "EDX Fieldstar 8x30 / 10x30" offers a special nature experience not only because of its extremely wide field of view. Only premium binoculars currently have such similarly sophisticated coatings. In addition, the prisms are equipped with a dielectric mirror, which gives the binoculars an overall transmission of up to over 91.7%. Stray light is effectively reduced by a special coating on the interior of the binoculars.

The diopter adjustment is located on the right eyepiece
The robust and shockproof housing of the binoculars "EDX 8x30 / 10x30" - an aluminum alloy combined with reinforced polycarbonates is used - is encased by a rubber armoring. This guarantees not only durability, but also significantly higher grip and slip resistance. The indestructible metal alloy of the adjustable eyecups ensures wear-free durability and provides optimum protection for the eyepieces. The EDX "8x30 / 10x30" is of course like all Ddoptics binoculars, completely waterproof and fog-free.

Tip
DDoptics offers the "EDX 10x30" binoculars especially for very long distances, for example in the mountains or when observing out to sea. It offers the same features as the "EDX 8x30" - with the exception of the higher magnification and the associated smaller field of view. The latter, however, still features a top value of 120 m for binoculars with 10x magnification.
