Minox Binoculars

Binoculars from Minox - German quality by tradition

In the 1970s, the manufacturer Minox was still very large and successful with just under 1000 employees. However, due to increasing competition and higher labour costs, only around 30 people are currently employed in Germany. Nevertheless, Minox has the image of a producer with high quality. The German company is better known for its cameras, but its binoculars are also becoming more and more popular, as they offer a variety of advantages. The range is divided into several product series.

General advantages of the binoculars

In production, ED/fluoride glass with apochromatic colour correction is used in combination with multi-coating on all glass/air surfaces. The design of the binoculars is ergonomic and includes a central focusing wheel. The eyecups on all models can be rotated out. Fogging from the inside is prevented from the outset by an argon gas filling. The housings are usually made of aluminium or magnesium and are rubber-armoured. At the same time, Minox binoculars are dustproof and waterproof to a depth of five metres or up to 0.5 bar. The specimens are all Made in Germany and come with an ever-ready case and a neoprene carrying strap.

Minox HG line

The binoculars in this product line have an extended field of view and are equipped with a special optics system that ensures extremely high light transmission. Thus, the brightness and contrast of these binoculars are optimal. The binoculars have a waisted design and are equipped with a special optical glass. Thanks to the lightweight magnesium housing and the ergonomic shape, these binoculars are also suitable for longer use. They have quick-close focusing and even allow you to measure distances thanks to a distance scale. The models in this line are equipped with MinoBright® prism coating. You can rotate the eyecups out to four different levels, according to your needs.

Minox BL line

Models in this product series are excellent for hunting and nature observation, as the handling is designed to be particularly comfortable. The binoculars have an open bridge and are therefore easy to operate even with one hand. You have more freedom of movement and the optimal grip allows safe use even under extreme conditions. In contrast to the binoculars of other Minox product lines, the field of view of these models is extended by more than 16%. This allows you to quickly capture and track the desired objects. In addition to the powerful optics and very good light intensity, these specimens also offer water resistance at up to five metres.

Minox BV line

The Minox binoculars from this product line are particularly distinguished by their wide range of applications. Whether nature and wildlife observation, hunting or travelling - you can use the models for any purpose and will always be satisfied. The design features and also the equipment of the Minox sport optics are built into the specimens of the BV line. The binoculars offer you neutral colour rendition and are waterproof at up to three metres. They have a nitrogen filling and an aluminium housing, which makes these products very easy to grip and robust.

Minox BD line

Binoculars from this product series are ideal for travel and day trips. They are extremely light thanks to their robust aluminium housing and very compact. One-handed and yet easy handling is possible thanks to the easy-grip design. Nevertheless, it has extremely high-quality optics, which will provide you with impressive pictures. They are also waterproof at up to five metres.

Designation of Minox binoculars

The individual models from Minox are labelled with the corresponding product line followed by a combination of two numbers. For example, if you find the indication "10x25", it is a pair of binoculars with a tenfold magnification and a lens with a diameter of 25mm. For leisure and use at events or sporting events, for example, binoculars with a magnification of 8x24 are sufficient. For bird watching or hunting, on the other hand, you should go for a model with a lens diameter of 33 or 42mm. For an optimal view in the field of astronomy, you should even choose at least an 8x52 or, best of all, a 13x56.
