Sony Cyber-shot

Sony Cyber-shot: Quality in a small format

Japanese tech giant Sony is known for a wide range of electronic devices. Among its top products is camera technology. The established Cyber-shot product line is just one of several model brands that Sony offers. The Japanese electronics company already made the term known with the help of its Sony Ericson brand mobile phones. Sony's system cameras always bear the brand name "Alpha" or "Alpha". "ILCE" and Sony Camcorder adorns the term "Handycam".

The pocket-sized all-rounder

Cyber-shot models are always digital cameras. Here, the focus is primarily on compactness. That is why they are also called compact cameras in the jargon. After all, the quality of the photos does not increase with the size of the camera. The product range extends from small cameras for carrying in your pocket to so-called bridge cameras, which are optically not dissimilar to a large SLR camera, but differ to some extent in the way they function.

All Cyber-shot cameras have non-interchangeable lenses with a fixed focal length from the quality brand Carl ZEISS Jena, equipped with optical zoom. Basically, compact cameras, as the name suggests, benefit from the fact that equipment, some of which has to be attached externally on larger cameras, is packed into a small body and is therefore quickly ready for use.

The Cyber-shot arouses curiosity

If you are looking for a new camera, the choice of a Sony camera is not limited to your abilities: Bloodthirsty beginners as well as seasoned pros will find what they are looking for in Cyber-shot cameras. Prices range from affordable to expensive, allowing every photography enthusiast to find the right model in their price range. They are equally well suited for photography and videography. The Cyber-shot brand covers a wide range of builds, sizes and features, so you're sure to find what you're looking for.

Cyber-shot: A brief model overview

Cyber-shot cameras always have the letter abbreviation DSC in the model name - this stands for "Digital Still Cameras". Compact cameras in the entry-level class have the suffix W or WX. They are characterised by a special lightness. They are also very small and easy to operate, and are therefore suitable for beginners and rather sporadic photographers, for example as a lightweight holiday camera or camera for children. Whether on the beach or in a museum, a Sony DSC-W camera will take you on any outing without weighing you down.

The suffixes H and HX stand for bridge cameras. These combine operating elements and construction principles of compact cameras and SLR cameras. However, the operation of bridge cameras is completely digital and they do not have mirrors. However, the operation of the camera is similar to that of SLR cameras. Furthermore, most bridge cameras have a Full HD video function for recording high-quality videos. It should be noted, however, that bridge cameras are also similar in size and weight to SLR cameras. An increase in quality has an increase in size as a trade-off. If high quality and the smallest possible body are important to you, then the next product line should meet your needs:

The final branch is the more expensive Cyber-shot models, which have the suffix R and RX respectively. These high-end compact cameras have powerful image sensors, high-end optical zoom and many other features that make a professional photographer's heart beat faster. This makes it possible to take uncompromisingly professional photos without having to carry around a heavy full-frame camera. RX cameras offer irresistible sharpness, outstanding image quality and a wide range of options and scene modes that leave nothing to be desired.
