The new "film camera mode" brings back the analog photography experience - with an optical viewfinder, manual "transport lever" and digital image development via app. The X half makes photography a pleasure for everyone. Thanks to its handy size and intuitive touch operation, users are always ready to capture special moments.

The X half takes photos and videos in portrait format with an aspect ratio of 3:4. It supports conscious and creative photography with an optical viewfinder, inspired by classic analog cameras, and a touchscreen monitor. With the "2-in-1 function" *2, two photos or videos can be combined directly in the camera to create an image composition.

The camera offers popular functions such as "film simulation" and "grain effect", which recreate the typical look of analog photos. New filters such as "light leak" and "halo" expand the creative possibilities. The "X half App" specially developed for the new camera makes viewing, editing, sharing and printing photos and videos even easier and more fun. Images can be easily transferred to smartphones via WiFi, displayed in various formats or sent to an instax Link printer *3.

New photographic expression options

The X half has a 3:4 format LCD monitor and an optical viewfinder, ideal for vertical image compositions. It shoots photos and movies in portrait format, just like smartphones. Its 1-inch sensor with rear exposure and the 32 mm lens (equivalent to KB) with F2.8 aperture ensure high image quality. The focal length is reminiscent of the "QuickSnap" disposable camera - the framing should look familiar to fans of this model. With the "transport lever", photos and videos can be combined directly in the camera to create 2-in-1 images. With the "X half App", such compositions can also be created with existing images.*4 The app also allows intuitive editing such as adjusting the color and size of the frame lines or swapping the image arrangement.

The X half offers 13 film simulations*5 for different analog film looks, including "REALA ACE" for natural colors and dynamic tonal range. Depending on the subject and scene, the appropriate film style can be selected.

Analog shooting experience

The X half offers three new filter functions inspired by analog photography: "Light Leak", "Halo" and "Expired Film". This allows the charm of a film camera to be recreated in digital form. Eight popular filters from the instax series are also available. With the "Grain effect", the X half gives the images the typical grain of analog photo films. Various film grain styles can be applied to change the effect of photos and films in a targeted manner. Another new feature is the "date stamp" function, which displays the date in the bottom right-hand corner of images and videos, just like on analog compact cameras. The X half offers a "film camera mode" that brings analog photography into the digital age. First you select a film simulation and the number of shots. After each shot, you simulate cocking the shutter with the "transport lever" for the next photo. As with analog film, the images can only be viewed once all the shots have been taken and developed. *6 For development, the data is simply transferred to the "X half App", where it can be viewed, edited and shared digitally. With the "X half App", photos and videos can be displayed as in a gallery or album, uploaded to social media or printed out via a connected instax Link printer *7. Photo products *8 can also be ordered directly in the app. The app can also be used to save a "contact sheet", i.e. an overview of all shots in the look of classic analog film strips.

Compact and classic design

The FUJIFILM X half weighs only 240 g and has a built-in lens. With its handy size and low weight, it is ideal for everyday use. The design meets the high standards of the X series and offers classic controls such as an aperture ring and a "transport lever". These borrowings from analog photography not only give the camera a special feel, but also evoke memories of the era of analog photography - of film rolls, mechanical triggers and conscious photography. The intuitive touch operation makes it easy to adjust shooting settings and film simulations - a convenience that perfectly matches the compact body. The new user interface can be controlled by swiping and sliding across two rear touchscreens. In addition to the large 3:4 monitor, there is a smaller sub-LCD that also displays the set film simulation in shooting mode. The optical viewfinder shows subjects as the eye sees them. It allows you to take up to 880 pictures and shoot all day without worrying about battery life.
