Accessories for camcorders

To get the best possible performance out of your camcorder, there are a number of accessories for all models. At the same time, it is important to protect the sensitive equipment. Suitable camcorder accessories are also available for your model.

Converter

With a fisheye converter, or fisheye, your images are reproduced in a barrel shape. At the same time, a maximum of 180 degrees of angle of view can be captured. With such a model, you thus bring a maximum of surroundings into your pictures with the typical fisheye look.

A teleconverter, on the other hand, works more like a telescope. This means you can bring distant images on your camcorder closer, making the captured objects appear larger. This is particularly useful for nature, sports or event photography.

With a simple wide-angle converter, you can capture a much wider angle of view. The recording area of your camcorder is therefore greatly enlarged, which is extremely practical, especially for landscape and panorama shots. When buying a converter, however, always make sure that it fits your camcorder.

Camcorder bags

To ensure that you can always store your camcorder and other individual parts safely, you should consider a suitable bag. Many of them are padded on the long and short sides, so that your device is optimally protected. Any individual parts, such as charging cables, memory cards or other accessories also have space. This means you always have everything at hand and never forget anything important.

Video lights

To ensure that you can capture magnificent images even in poor lighting conditions, it is recommended that you purchase a video light. Models with LEDs are recommended, as they consume little power and at the same time have a high luminosity. Before buying a video light, you should consider what kind of power supply it needs. A model powered by rechargeable batteries or batteries is very practical, especially when you are on the move. They are usually very quick and easy to attach to the camcorder and ensure a good recording. There are video lights with a different number of light-emitting diodes, which at best make the brightness adjustable with a dimmer. Some even allow you to adjust the colour temperature for optimal pictures.

Camcorder microphones

The microphone integrated into a camcorder is usually not of optimal quality. In addition to ambient noise, clicks from the camcorder itself are often recorded when you change settings, for example. To avoid this, you should use an external microphone. This is attached to the camcorder and in most cases has a much better recording quality than the internal model of the device. Depending on the area of application, an additional windscreen is worthwhile to avoid unwanted background noise.

Chargers and cables

To avoid suddenly holding a camcorder in your hand that stops working due to a lack of power, you should always have a charger at hand. In addition to the one you bought when you bought your camcorder, it is always worth buying a second charger so that you can take it with you when you are on the move or have a replacement in case of a defect. It can also be worth buying an HDMI cable if you want to watch your recorded videos directly on a TV. Since most models are HD-capable, you should also only use a transmission with an HDMI cable to get the best picture quality.

Spare batteries

Should you be on the road and have no way to power your camcorder with a charger, a separate battery is the solution. You can simply pack one or two in your bag in a charged state before a planned recording session, so you won't have any unwanted surprises when the prompt to charge suddenly appears on your camcorder.

Filters

If you want to give your recordings a very special look, you can clamp special filters in front of the lens. A UV filter will protect your lens in extreme sunlight. A polarising filter enhances the contrast of your pictures and suppresses reflections. ND filters, i.e. neutral density filters or grey filters, act like sunglasses and thus darken the images. With a graduated grey filter, only a certain area is darkened because only one half is tinted. This tint then runs through the centre of the filter. This is extremely advantageous for landscape shots on very sunny days, for example, to darken the sky a little. With a close-up lens filter, you can get even closer to the objects to be filmed when using your camcorder at very short distances. There are also various types of effect filters that can be used to give your recordings a very special look. Many camcorders have filters, such as neutral density filters, already built in.
