. Background information: "Sazanami" is a special weaving technique that produces a pattern in the shape of an arrow. The "Sazanami" pattern has its origins in the "Heian" period (794-1185), a heyday of art and literature in Japan. This traditional Japanese pattern can still be found on kimono belts and other accessories.
