Handle for system cameras

Powerful system cameras have long since replaced the good old DSLR and have established themselves in many areas with their high-quality and handy technology. Clutch handles on DSLMs seemed a little out of date: They are too clunky and oversized on the narrower cameras from Fujifilm, Panasonic, Sigma or Sony. With the Micro Clutch, Peak Design has now developed a model that is specially designed for system cameras in all relevant aspects - from the form factor to the flexible grip strap.

Rounded base plate: elegant & robust

In order to be able to hold the system camera just as securely, comfortably and effortlessly as the SLR on the large clutch in the past, an anodized aluminium base plate with grip strap

The slim, rounded shape fits perfectly with the models of all current camera brands and is also an extremely elegant addition for high-quality models such as the X100 series from Fujifilm - it is only 0.7 cm thick. The contact surface is fully coated, preventing slippage.

Adjustable

grip strap The grip strap made of highly tear-resistant Hypalon is firmly anchored to the base plate, but can be moved to adapt perfectly to your grip. It can also be individually adjusted like a belt buckle. Depending on your hand size and grip habits, it offers a comfortable hold to guide the camera in a two- or three-finger grip. At the top, the buckle is guided through the split ring on the top of the camera, rings and insertion aid are included.

L and I version

two versions of the Micro Clutch so that it also fits system cameras with a molded grip. The plate of the L version has a bulge on the right to cover the shape of models such as the Fujifilm X-T5 or the Sony Alphas to cover the shape. Otherwise, both versions are identical

Perfect combination options with cuff, leash and slide

An anchor link can be threaded directly onto the plate or onto the Arca mount. The latter even has eyelets at each corner. The slim grip loop is large enough for a secure hold, but can still be easily combined with straps. The small plate of Slide, Slide Lite and Leash for the anchor point at the bottom is then also not necessary - the eyelets are exactly at this point.

During Peak Design's Kickstarter campaign, many questions arose as to why the base plate covers the battery compartment or, on some models, the card slot, and why the Arca clamping plate is not directly molded on. The latter is an advantage: with a directly molded clamping profile, the base plate would have been much thicker and would no longer form a compact whole with a system camera. However, latching onto Arca ball heads or the Capture Clip is not a problem. There is a separate plate for this, which clicks magnetically into the guide channel and is then tightened to the tripod thread of the camera with a longer screw. And the battery? If Peak Design had built a model-specific cut-out into the plate, countless variants would have been necessary for the many different models - and ultimately only versions for a few best-selling models would have come onto the market. So the version with the magnetically integrated tool for quickly loosening the plate is a good compromise. The handle loop itself does not need to be adjusted, as it remains attached to the top.
