Camera power supply unit for a constant power supply over a long period of time
The ONsite Relay is a universal power supply unit for cameras of numerous brands and series. A camera can be permanently supplied with power via the ONsite Relay. There is virtually no limit to the duration. The ONsite Relay is therefore suitable for all types of shots where a camera requires a constant power supply over a longer period of time, but where it is not possible to change the battery: either because there is not always someone present who can change the battery, or because changing the battery inevitably shifts the image section.
An
example of such a scenario would be taking series of images to create time-lapse movies
.
Can be connected to almost any camera using separately available adapters
The ONsite Relay can be connected to the battery compartment of numerous cameras using a separately available adapter. This includes SLR cameras and mirrorless system cameras from brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic or Fuji.
Mains power supply via a USB mains adapter or via a 5V power bank
ONsite Relay can be connected to a socket via the built-in USB cable and a separately available plug adapter to supply the ONsite Relay and the connected camera with mains power. Suitable mains adapters are supplied with many cameras and almost all iOS devices. However, they are also available from specialist electrical retailers. As an alternative to mains operation, a power bank can also be connected. The Tether Tools Rock Solid External Battery Pack is suitable for this purpose. However, any other power bank with an output voltage of 5 volts will also work.
Integrated battery for an uninterrupted supply during a power bank change
If the ONsite Relay is supplied with power via a power bank, this can be charged while it is connected to the ONsite Relay. However, the power bank can also be replaced during operation, as the ONsite Relay has an integrated lithium-ion battery so that it continues to supply the connected camera with power during a power bank change.
Power banks enable uninterrupted continuous operation away from mains power
The ONsite Relay offers an immense advantage, especially when shooting outdoors away from any power socket: by connecting several power banks to the ONsite Relay in alternation, you can keep your camera in continuous and, above all, uninterrupted operation without having to rely on mains power
