The ET-83F (WIII) lens hood is designed specifically for the RF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM lens, and is also suitable for the Canon RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM to prevent lens flare and ghosting caused by reflected stray light - and it also protects the front part of the lens from accidental damage. The inner surface has a satin finish. It is also heat-insulated to prevent heat flicker from forming in front of the front lens. Heat-generating infrared light is reflected and no heat buildup occurs when shooting on hot days. This sturdy lens hood attaches securely to the lens with two locking points and offers a convenient window for adjusting a filter
