Buteo Photo Gear Camouflage Tent Falco Mark III Reeds
Perfect camouflage
If you are often out and about in nature, you will quickly realize that birds and mammals are very shy of humans. No wonder, considering that these animals have been hunted almost everywhere for centuries.
The best solution for successful wildlife photography is to camouflage yourself and your equipment with a camouflage tent. The basic idea is that the animals no longer see or recognize us as humans and therefore do not feel threatened. With the Falco Mark II hide, you are quickly and perfectly camouflaged and can photograph more effectively and perfectly at low altitude. Due to its small size, the tent can be placed inconspicuously and easily camouflaged with branches, leaves, reeds, etc.
Simple, fast and mobile
The advantage of having your own portable hide is that you can take it with you wherever you go and deploy it quickly when the opportunity arises.
Prepare and set up
It's fun and useful to visit a nature area and prepare well so that you can start nature photography with your low-level photo hide. But even a casual encounter can turn into a great photo session, as you can set up the hide quickly.
If possible, make use of the existing vegetation so that your photo hide blends in with its surroundings. Due to its compact size, this is easy in most cases. It is best to set up your hide the day or evening before so that birds and mammals get used to it and you don't lose any time when you enter the area. The tent can be further secured with the guy ropes provided, although this will not be necessary very often.
The Falco Mark II also offers the option of attaching additional camouflage such as branches, leaves, reeds and so on. These extras can be attached to the lines. If you do this correctly, your fur will blend in even better with its surroundings, which is exactly what it is supposed to do! Another option is to use an additional camouflage net.
The tent fabric is made of a robust material (polyester 150D) that will last a long time. The tent is perfect for short term use (up to several months). If the tent is left in the blazing sun for a longer period of time, the color/camoprint may fade slightly. If it rains/showers, you will still stay dry thanks to the 2,500 mm water column. Bear in mind, however, that the weather resistance may deteriorate somewhat if the camouflage tent is left outside for months or even longer.
For a little more comfort, but above all to keep yourself and your equipment dry and clean, a groundsheet is useful. This can be used both under the tent and in the tent.
Imagine you are waiting in your hiding place, perfectly prepared and ready for action! Suddenly a beaver, grebe or sandpiper appears! It's very exciting when you finally succeed and your target species appears in front of your tent on your beloved ground! For wildlife and nature photographers, there's nothing like the feeling of capturing beautiful shots of birds and wildlife to make the wait worthwhile. At that moment, it's nice to be able to rely on your equipment!
Taking photos from the camouflage tent
The door has a high-quality zipper and is additionally camouflaged with an insect screen in the same camouflage print. This means that the tent is still perfectly camouflaged when the door is (slightly) open. The hide can also be fully opened at the front so that you can easily set up your ground stand or tripod with mounted equipment.
Inside the tent you will notice that it is very dark due to the black coating on the inside. There is a photo window at the front. Optionally, it is possible to mount a visor or snoot / lens cover to the photo window, which also camouflages your lens and protects it from possible rain and dust. Another advantage is that your hands are invisible when you are operating your camera.
The camouflage tent offers just enough space inside for you, your tripod with mounted photo equipment and a photo backpack or bag. There are storage compartments on both sides where you can stow small items. The viewing windows with an insect net on all sides give you enough visibility to keep an eye on your surroundings.
So if you are looking for a perfect, flat nature and wildlife photo hide that is easy to transport, quick to set up and always has the right camouflage pressure, the Falco Mark II is the best choice for you.
