Nikon Prostaff 5 60-S

The PROSTAFF-5 observation telescopes are entry-level Nikon observation telescopes and the successors to the RA III series. The bodies of the PROSTAFF-5 observation telescopes are approximately 20% lighter than the current RA III. The newly developed Zoom eyepiece minimizes chromatic aberration at the edge of the field of view and provides a large exit pupil distance for comfortable observation.

Three types of eyepieces with digiscoping compatibility are available. They can be connected to many of the COOLPIX series of digital compact cameras via an FSB series connection adapter.

Lightweight body: approximately 20% lighter than the current model.

Large objective lens diameter (60 mm and 82 mm) for a brighter field of view.

All lenses and prisms in the body and eyepiece are multi-coated.

A digiscoping connection is available for the three newly developed eyepieces. This allows many of the digital compact cameras in the COOLPIX series to be connected via an FSB series connection adapter.

Integrated lens hood.

Environmentally produced, lead- and arsenic-free glass.

A protective ready case is included.

Two tripod threads on the body allow stable mounting on a tripod; adjustable for use with or without digiscoping system.

Elegant and compact design.

Current eyepieces for RA III series observing scopes are compatible with the body of the new PROSTAFF-5 observing scope.
