Nisi 150mm Filter Kit Starter Kit Medium
IR ND Gray Filter
NiSi neutral density (ND) filters are used to evenly reduce the amount of light entering the lens. ND filters enable greater motion blur and detail by allowing a wide aperture and slow shutter speed. They are also useful when the contrast between the highlights and shadows is too great to achieve a high quality exposure.
Medium IR GND8
The NiSi 100x150mm Medium IR GND8 - 3 Stops is a rectangular filter that darkens certain areas of the image, e.g. bright skies, while other areas are darker.
The filter is densest at the edges and becomes brighter towards the center, with a medium transition between the dense and bright areas. A neutral density filter with a medium transition is particularly suitable for taking pictures of buildings, small mountains and other objects that extend far into the sky. The transition zone of a medium filter is 40 % smaller than that of a soft GND filter and is ideal for shooting at sunrise and sunset.
True-to-life colors
The NiSi GND and ND filters do not affect the coloration of the image, offer true-to-life colors and are made of high-quality optical Schott glass with multi-layer nano-coating to ensure the preservation of every single detail.
Infrared coating
When using gray filters, the camera can become susceptible to infrared light, which can cause an unwanted red cast in photos with small apertures. The NiSi GND filters have an infrared protective coating that blocks infrared light through the lens, ensuring natural, true-to-life color reproduction.
