The f/3.5-5 speed allows for a very compact design and makes the LAOWA 8-16mm f/3.5-5 Zoom CF the ideal and lightweight vacation companion. In the sturdy metal housing, 16 elements in 11 groups provide excellent imaging performance. 2 elements of which are extra-low dispersion glass and 2 are aspherical lenses. The 5 aperture blades produce a very clear 10-beam sun star.

The front lens is coated with the water and dust repellent "Frog Eye Coating' (FEC). It gives your lens an extra layer of protection compared to conventional coatings. The close focus distance of only 20cm allows for interesting perspectives with a striking foreground. Screw filters with 86mm thread can be used on the lens hood. The lens is relatively lightweight at about 463g.

It features an aperture ring with click switch mechanism that can be switched from click to stepless. This makes it perfect for photographers and filmmakers alike. Focusing and aperture adjustment is manual
