To achieve such a compact design, the lens construction has been matched to the camera's capabilities to best correct vignetting and distortion. In addition, axial chromatic aberrations, which are difficult to correct during image processing, are efficiently corrected through the use of an SLD glass element. This lens features a compact and lightweight design combined with outstanding image quality.
The lens benefits from an F1.4 open aperture to deliver effective bokeh and amazing brightness even on APS-C format cameras, which tend to have more unpronounced bokeh compared to full-frame systems. The compact and lightweight body is perfect for everyday use and shooting a wide variety of scenes - from portraits to candid shots to night photography.
Smooth AF for video recording
Combining an optical setup for AF video shooting with the use of a stepper motor enables smooth and quiet autofocus. Using the cameras' Face Detection or Eye AF functions, focus remains continuously on the face or eye, even if the subject moves during shooting.
Dust- and splash-proof design
