Sigma presents the 15mm F1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye, a lens with a 180° angle of view and outstanding resolution. This innovative lens offers a unique diagonal fisheye experience and enables fascinating perspectives in the highest image quality .
development of this fisheye lens with an ultra-wide angle of view and the characteristic curvature effect, SIGMA has achieved a completely new level of artistic potential. For the first time, such a lens for the consumer sector offers a speed of f1.4 and outstanding resolution over the entire image area.
In terms ofoptical performance, the Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art achieves outstanding point sharpness and highest resolution by correcting various aberrations, especially sagittal coma error
.The lens is ideal for astrophotography, which requires particularly high performance at wide open aperture. In contrast to conventional fisheye lenses, the Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art is exceptionally sharp over the entire 180° angle of view. It also offers an extreme speed of f1.4, making it perfect for a wide range of creative applications in landscape and architectural photography in addition to its use in astrophotography. In wide-angle photography, the expressive power of this completely new full-frame fisheye lens for mirrorless cameras offers a wealth of creative possibilities.
The unique expressive power of a fisheye lens combined with excellent image quality. Even with the aperture wide open, the resolution is very high across the entire image area. The new optical design also ensures extremely thorough correction of all types of aberration.
Theoutstanding performance of the lens is guaranteed by testing with Sigma's own MTF measurement system
.The optical design consists of 21 elements in 15 groups. These include 4 FLD and 3 SLD glass elements with low dispersion and 2 aspherical lens elements. By correcting sagittal coma and other aberrations, the lens is able to accurately reproduce bright points of light across the entire image area, even at large apertures. This feature makes it the ideal tool for astrophotography.
The appeal of a fisheye lens lies in its characteristic curvature effect. Together with an image angle of 180°, this effect enables creative images with a unique perspective and emphasis on the subject. The high image quality and expressive power of the Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art creates an artistic potential that surpasses other fisheye lenses. This is also ensured by the strict performance standard of the Art product line and testing with Sigma's own MTF measurement system
.To avoid flares and ghosting, which impair image quality, the lens has been optimized for all lighting conditions using the latest simulation technology.
The Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art has a wealth of functions to support astrophotography. With the introduction of this lens, Sigma now offers four f1.4 wide-angle lenses in the Art product line that are suitable for astrophotography. With focal lengths of 14mm, 15mm, 20mm and 24mm and practical features, they open up a wealth of options for astrophotography. SIGMA thus supports the joy of photographing stars and planets across the board.
With the Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art, the Sigma Art product line is now extended to four f1.4 fixed focal lengths with special properties for astrophotography. This allows users to select the lens that best suits their needs and the desired image result.
The Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art is equipped with an MFL switch. This can be used to decouple the focus ring. This prevents unintentional adjustment of the manually set focus point.
Aninvaluable aid when photographing the starry sky.
A small edge on the front of the lens ensures that a lens warmer or heating sleeve is securely attached.
Lens warmers are used to prevent fogging of the lenses when working in cold environments
The rear filter holder accepts standard film filters. Thanks to the enclosed template, these are easy to cut to size yourself.
The special LC1040-01 front cap offers secure protection for the front lens of the Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art and, unlike other snap-on caps, can be locked. Furthermore, its integrated filter compartments ensure the safe and clean transport of two of the optionally available film filters for the rear filter holder.
The lightweight and robust tripod clamp TS-141*, made from a magnesium alloy, is Arca-Swiss compatible and removable. With its help, the lens can be mounted securely and balanced on a tripod. Thanks to its special shape, it can also be easily used in combination with a lens warmer
*included, also compatible with the Sigma 14mm f1.4 DG DN Art
The Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye Art is equipped with many functions that make photography easier. These include an AFL button, which can be assigned a preferred function, and an aperture ring with "de-click function". An HLA drive (High-response Linear Actuator) ensures fast, quiet and precise autofocus. The housing is dust and splash-proof and the workmanship is designed for durability and reliability.
The Sigma 15mm f1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye offers an AFL button that can be assigned individual functions on compatible cameras. The lens also has the characteristic aperture ring for direct adjustment of the aperture on the lens. Thanks to the "de-click function", this feature is also interesting for filmmakers, as the aperture can be adjusted silently and steplessly. Those who prefer to set the aperture on the camera body can simply use the lock function of the aperture ring and are protected against accidental adjustment.
addition to the dust- and splash-proof housing*, the front lens of the lens has a water- and oil-repellent coating
.The lens is protected against dust and splash water, but is not waterproof.
An HLA (High-Response Linear Actuator) linear motor with high thrust and electronic control ensures fast and precise focusing
.To support the heavy elements of the optical system, metal components are used at key points of the lens housing. In addition, the use of TSC* plastics at suitable points ensures optimum weight reduction. Control elements such as rings and switches offer excellent haptics and operability.
*TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) is a polycarbonate with a thermal expansion rate similar to that of aluminum
