How far does your view reach?
The extra-large diameter of the Nikon-Z bayonet allows NIKKOR-Z lenses to capture more light at every angle of the frame. This, combined with the small flange focal distance (the distance between the bayonet mount and the image sensor), ensures only minimal light falloff from the center of the image to the edges. The result is incredible detail - right to the corners of the image.

Point light sources in the subject, such as street lamps at night, are imaged with superior precision because sagittal coma has been almost completely corrected. Point light sources are imaged as naturally round points, even at the edges of the frame.
Two ED glass lenses and three aspherical lenses contribute to razor-sharp, brilliant images with rich colors and clear contrast, and vignetting (the light fall-off from the center of the image to the edges) is almost completely eliminated - for uniform brightness to the corners of the image.
