The Nikon AF-Nikkor 35mm f/2D is a classic wide-angle lens that is characterized by its compact design, high speed and outstanding optical performance. It has been specially designed for Nikon FX (full-frame) and DX (APS-C) cameras with an integrated autofocus motor.
1
. focal length & image effect
With a fixed focal length of 35 mm (equivalent to approx. 52 mm on DX cameras), the lens delivers a natural perspective - ideal for reportage, street, travel and everyday photography. The slight wide-angle effect is versatile, without distortion effects in portraits.
2. speed
The high speed of f/2 enables photography in low light without a tripod and ensures a beautiful, soft bokeh at open aperture. This makes the lens particularly suitable for available light and indoor photography.
3. optical construction
The lens has 6 elements in 5 groups, a simple, classic construction with reliable image performance. The color rendition is neutral, the sharpness at f/4-f/8 excellent. Slight chromatic aberration and edge blurring can occur at open aperture, but are generally well controlled.
4. autofocus & handling
Autofocus works via the camera motor ("screwdriver AF") and is therefore only compatible with Nikon bodies that have an integrated focus motor. Focusing is fast and precise, manual intervention is possible at any time via the easy-grip focus ring.
5. processing
The housing is made of robust plastic with a metal bayonet. The lens is very compact (weighing approx. 205 g ) and fits perfectly into any photo bag - ideal for traveling. The distance scale and aperture ring (typical for D lenses) offer additional control, especially with analog or manual cameras.
