The Irix 15mm is a premium manual focus lens that is great for outdoor, nature and astrophotography.
Iris 15mm is the perfect right-angle, straight-angle manual focus lens for DSLR cameras. With a focal length of 15mm, this lens is ideal for outdoor, nature and astro or architectural photography.
The optical construction of the Irix Blackstone wide-angle lens is outstanding and meets the most demanding requirements of modern cameras. 15 elements in 11 groups include three elements of high-index glass and two of extra-low dispersion glass. Two aspherical lenses provide extremely high image quality and improve image brightness at the edges while minimizing distortion and aberration.
The new special features such as focus lock, infinity click and hyperfocal scale set new functions for manual focus lenses. Thanks to the sophisticated optical design and the special neutrino coating, color aberrations, ghosting and flare effects have been reduced to an absolute minimum.
With a minimum focusing distance of 0.28 meters and 9 rounded aperture blades, the lens stands for extremely smooth, out-of-focus areas. The design of the lens allows the use of 95mm screw-in filters in the front of the petal-shaped hood and gelatin filters in the rear of the lens.

Das ist ein richtig schönes Objektiv - geiler Blickwinkel, fast verzeichnungsfrei und mit ausreichender Schärfe (ich bin kein Linienpaarzähler). Allerdings könnte der Hersteller gerne auf das ganze "Marketinggedöns" verzichten : Eine Fokusverriegelung braucht kein Mensch bei einem extremen Weitwinkel. Eine Hyperfokalskala ist völlig überflüssig : wer weiß, was der Hyperfokalpunkt ist, findet ihn ohne Skala, und für Andere ist das nur ein unverständliches Fremdwort... Und eine Blechbüchse für das Objektiv braucht auch niemand. Was schön ist, ist der kleine Schieber in der Gegenlichtblende : der erlaubt die Verstellung eines Polfilters - pfiffig! Ein Wermutstropfen war die schlechte Justierung ab Werk. Irix scheint das zu wissen, und liefert eine Anleitung zur Selbstjustage. Mein Vorschlag an den Hersteller : macht es doch einfach schon ab Werk perfekt, Andere kriegen das doch auch hin...Das gibt Punktabzug!
