The Sigma 35mm f1.2 DG DN (Art) lens for L-mount delivers maximum performance on mirrorless cameras.
First wide-angle AF lens with a maximum aperture of F1.2 for the L-Mount full-frame system. This lens enables works of art with amazing resolution and great bokeh, such as portraits with shallow depth of field. It takes the development concept of the Art product line - "striving for the highest image quality" - to the next level. By utilizing the camera's internal optical correction function, the optical design fully corrects difficult-to-post-process aberrations and thus improves resolution.
The Art product line in the mirrorless camera era strives for the highest performance with a focal length of 35mm and also achieves a maximum aperture of F1.2. Three SLD glass elements and three aspherical lenses including a double-sided aspherical lens are optimally arranged in a lens construction of 17 elements in 12 groups. In addition to its optical design that takes advantage of the short flange focal length, it effectively utilizes the camera's internal correction function to correct distortion and vignetting. Various aberrations that are difficult to correct by post-processing - such as sagittal coma - are fully corrected by the combination of optical design technologies developed by SIGMA, achieving a stunning resolution of over 50 million pixels.
With a large diameter F1.2 lens, comfortable autofocus photography is achieved by the large Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), which achieves the desired rotational force required to control the focus lens group. In manual photography, the focus ring driven by the focus-by-wire system reacts to fine adjustments by the photographer with the optimized torque setting. In addition, the aperture ring is equipped with an anti-click function that eliminates clicks and enables transition-free operation, which is particularly useful when shooting video.
The aperture ring is also equipped with a de-click function that allows clicks to be adjusted with the ON / OFF switch. This allows seamless adjustment of the aperture, which is particularly useful during video recording. In addition, the AFL button, which can be assigned various functions, extends the working range of the lens.
Furthermore, the lens has a dust and splash-proof construction as well as a water and oil-repellent coating on the front lens, which further supports photography in various environments.
