the Super Wide Heliar has extremely low distortion and enables sharp images right to the edge despite its super-wide 110° (diagonal) angle of view. 11 lens elements in 9 groups form the optical unit, enclosed in a metal tube with easy-to-grip controls. The optical design has been optimized to correct the angle of the incident light rays. This prevents color casts at the image periphery, which can be caused by the structure of digital image sensors.
