The large diameter of the Z bayonet, the constant f/2.8 aperture, and the iris diaphragm with nine rounded blades ensure fascinating performance under all lighting conditions. They achieve beautiful star effects and extremely natural-looking bokeh right to the edge of the image circle.

Incredibly strong at close distances

The sharpness is phenomenal - and especially unsurpassed at close range. With its closest focusing distance of just 0.38m across all focal lengths, you have maximum freedom over your image composition - from close-up to infinity.

Even point sources of light are reproduced in true detail - a credit to the elaborate construction of 17 lenses in 15 groups. The combined use of ARNEO and nanocrystal coating effectively reduces flare and ghosting, even when light is incident from very different angles.

The Zoom and focus rings provide just the right amount of rotational resistance. Using the adjustment ring, the aperture can be adjusted or exposure compensation can be made with virtually no noise.

AF metering, metering, bracketing and more. Up to 21 different functions can be assigned to the lens function button (Fn).

Focused

With the OLED information display, the aperture, distance setting, exact focal length and extent of depth of field can be quickly checked directly on the lens.
