With the Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm f4.0-6.3 (200-800mm KB), Panasonic introduces a high-quality and particularly compact super-telephoto lens for Micro-FourThirds. As the first Zoom under the Leica name, this exceptional telephoto focal length guarantees the high optical and mechanical quality of a top lens.

The Leica DG Vario-ELmar has 20 elements in 13 groups, including one aspherical ED element, two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements and one UED (Ultra Extra-low Dispersion) element. Despite the extreme telephoto focal length of 800mm (KB equivalent), the optimized arrangement of the lenses enables a very compact design, while at the same time minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration. The

high imaging performance over the entire focal length of the lens, in conjunction with the POWER O.I.S. image stabilizer, enables maximum sharpness even with extreme hand-held telephoto shots. A tripod is therefore rarely required.
