Ultra-sharp standard Zoom lens

The Sony SEL 16-55mm G is an APS-C standard Zoom lens with a constant F2.8 aperture and offers excellent image quality of the G series with outstanding all-round performance. The focal length range of 16-55mm for APS-C corresponds to 24-82.5mm in full-frame format. The advanced design features two aspherical elements (Advanced Aspherical) that correct aberrations for outstanding resolution right to the edge of the image, while three ED (ExtraLow Dispersion) glass elements minimize chromatic aberrations and colour bleeding.

To guarantee outstanding image sharpness when shooting, an AR Nano coating reduces reflections and ghost effects. The lens boasts a circular aperture with nine blades.

Despite its enormous speed at a constant F2.8 aperture, the compact lens weighs just 494 grams. The XD (extreme dynamic) linear motor is extremely fast and - just like in the lenses of the G Master series - ensures precise and reliable autofocus and reliable tracking of moving subjects. In addition to the outstanding image quality, users will also appreciate the professional handling and reliability of the SEL-1655G. This includes the customizable focus hold button for immediate use and the linear manual focus response, which ensures precise, fast manual focusing.
