Nikon Z9
The Z9 was developed for photographers and videographers who want to go beyond their limits. It is aimed at professional nature, sports and press photographers who require an exceptional electronic viewfinder, autofocus, operability and robustness - which even surpasses the values of the D6. The Z 9 is also suitable for fashion and advertising professionals who need to fully exploit their creativity in high-resolution photos and videos, as well as for videographers who want to achieve high-quality results in efficient and agile production environments.
"The Z 9 is the most advanced camera we have ever developed. It surpasses anything currently on the market," says Dirk Jasper, Product Manager at Nikon Europe. "Only a few cameras are real game changers, this is one of them. Thanks to the Z 9's exceptional processing, speed, AI-driven technologies and ergonomics, photographers can overcome challenges posed by lighting, subject and environment like never before. With the camera's technical capabilities, professionals can redefine their creative goals."
Outstanding autofocus and 3D tracking
The 493 AF point system includes 405 automatic AF points - five times more than the Z 7II, and 10 AF point modes to optimize AF settings for every task. Deep Learning AI enables the most advanced simultaneous detection of up to nine different subject types. Combined with 3D Tracking, a first in the Nikon mirrorless camera range, every important moment is captured. Whether people and their distinguishing features, animals or vehicles - the Z 9 recognizes the subjects and reacts immediately to changes in position, orientation and speed.
Groundbreaking video functions
The incredible imaging performance of the Nikon Z 9 enables photographers to capture exquisite 8K 24p to 60p and 4K 24p to 120p movies as well as time-lapse movies in-camera. 8K footage at 30p can be recorded for approximately 125 minutes at a time - the longest recording time among mirrorless cameras¹. It is also compatible with the ProRes 422 HQ2 recording format, which reliably meets the diverse requirements of video production. An upcoming firmware update will enable the recording of RAW 8K movies in smooth 60p3. Constant AF/AE tracking and eye AF support filming, while the new N-RAW format of Nikon keeps file sizes manageable4.
Powerful speed
Shoot more than 1000 images5 in high-resolution RAW at 20fps in a single burst. You can also shoot at up to 120 frames per second at approx. 11 MP in JPEG normal image quality with full AF/AE capability in the new C+ mode. The world's fastest sensor sampling rate6 virtually eliminates rolling shutter distortion, so the mechanical shutter has been removed. Exposure times of up to 1/32000 s, combined with the camera's ability to capture images at ISO 64, allow you to work with an open aperture for perfect framing of the subject, even in extremely bright light.
Constant visibility, in real time
The Z 9 is equipped with the brightest7 (3000 nit) electronic viewfinder display and offers continuous shooting without black phases at all times thanks to dual-stream technology, so photographers never miss a moment. The Z 9's display offers a truly continuous real-time view, meaning that movements of the subject or the smallest changes in the photographed scene are continuously displayed to the photographer.
Ergonomics and stability
Another first for Nikon, the Z 9 is equipped with a 4-axis monitor that can be tilted vertically and horizontally, allowing photographers to adapt to the moment with fast, flexible framing. The ergonomics of the camera, such as the arrangement of the buttons, were developed and improved together with professional photographers. The robustness of the Z 9 goes beyond that of the D6 and ensures that users can rely on their tool even in harsh conditions. With the new AF mode button, AF mode and AF point control can be intuitively switched during shooting. The top and rear LCD displays and buttons light up when the main switch is pressed to make it easier to change settings in the dark.
Nikon Nikkor Z 28-135mm f4 PZ
The NIKKOR Z 28-135mm f4 PZ is predestined for high-resolution 8K video material directly from the camera and is light enough for hand-held filming. An exceptional lens that is a milestone for videographers using Nikon-Z full-frame cameras such as the Z9 and Z8.
With servo Zoom control and a weight of only 1210g (including tripod adapter ring), it is a compact, well-balanced and reliable video lens suitable for gimbal or handheld filming, especially for videographers who want to work with minimal equipment.
The video-specific optical design is ideal for high-resolution 8K video footage, offering plenty of flexibility when cropping in post-production and outputting in 4K. Nikon's high-performance glass and optical coatings ensure remarkably clear shots from any distance - even in bright sunlight or in the studio.
A yellow ring indicates that this Power-Zoom is a Z-bayonet video lens that is compatible with a wide range of professional video accessories, such as matte boxes and follow focus systems.
Key features for video shooting include easy-in/ease-out (eliminating the need for an external motorized Zoom) and 11 different Zoom speeds that can be assigned to the Zoom switch on the lens. Position recording and recall make it possible to recompose the image between shots, linear manual focusing ensures accurate, repeatable results and the direction of the focus and Zoom rings can be reversed. Remote control of the lens is also possible and it is sealed against dust and moisture.
