Sony ILME-FX6V camcorder with E-mount system.

In its compact body, the FX6 can be taken anywhere and is always ready for creative shooting with its high-sensitivity full-frame image sensor.

Cinematic full-frame image quality

The camera features a 10.2-megapixel, rear-exposed Exmor R full-frame CMOS sensor that offers 15+ stops of dynamic range with high sensitivity and low noise. The base ISO of ISO 800 enables shooting in low to very low light conditions and is expandable to ISO 12,8003 with a maximum sensitivity range of 409,6004.

The FX6 supports XAVC All Intra 10-bit recording with 4:2:2 color sampling in DCI 4K (4096 x 2160 up to 60p), 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 up to 120p) and Full HD (1920 x 1080 up to 240p) for incredibly detailed slow motion recording. When smaller file sizes are needed, the FX6 can also record in XAVC Long GOP format. It then supports 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 up to 120p) recording with 8-bit and 4:2:0 color sampling, as well as Full HD (1920 x 1080 up to 240p) recording with 10-bit and 4:2:2. In addition, the camera is equipped with a BIONZ XR image processor, first introduced on the new Sony Alpha 7S III and ensures up to four times faster processing compared to the FS5 II.

Based on the same technical expertise as Sony's world-leading VENICE cinema camera, the FX6 supports cinematic color adjustments including S-Cinetone for richer color reproduction, and S-Log3, S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine for post-production flexibility. The FX6's cinematic color processing is optimized for demanding applications: it preserves the sensor's full dynamic range, opening up a wide range of creative expression. Based on the color settings of the VENICE, the FX6 makes film productions possible that approach the material of other models in the Cinema Line.

Advanced video features

Drawing on the impressive AF capabilities of Sony Alpha cameras, the FX6 scores with fast hybrid AF that combines 627-point AF phase detection, advanced face detection, with real-time eye AF at high frame rates and continuous autofocus. This allows camera operators to effortlessly and precisely track fast-moving subjects for slow-motion shooting without losing focus. The fast hybrid autofocus is compatible with more than 50 native E-mount lenses. Shooting up to five times slow motion in 4K UHD 120p is also possible with the camera.

In addition, the new FX6 is equipped with an internal, electronically adjustable ND filter. Users can thus easily and seamlessly control the camera's filter values, set the variable ND filters to automatic, or manually adjust the filter values in continuous increments from 1/4 to 1/128. As a result, they always get perfectly exposed shots without compromising depth of field or shutter angle, even in changing lighting conditions. Combined with the camera's ultra-high sensitivity, the electronically adjustable ND filter gives users optimal creative control in virtually any shooting environment.

Excellent portability and operability

The FX6 has a rugged magnesium alloy body, measures only 116 x 153 x 114 millimeters, and weighs just 0.89 kilograms. This compact and lightweight design makes it ideal for spontaneous shooting. A heat-dissipating structure ensures that the camera's components do not overheat, even during extended shooting sessions. At the same time, the FX6 features a modular design so users can easily combine it with accessories such as grips and viewfinders, or attach it to gimbals and drones.

The FX6's 3.5-inch LCD viewfinder can be mounted in multiple locations on the camera body for added flexibility and easy menu control with touch operation. A DeepL access menu for frequently used functions allows camera operators to change key settings with a single tap. These include codec, scan mode, frame size and frame rate, base ISO value/sensitivity, capture mode, and audio level.

Professional-level reliability

To meet professional workflows, the FX6 offers 12G-SDI with 16-bit RAW output, HDMI output, timecode, built-in Wi-Fi and four-channel audio recording (via XLR interface, multi accessory shoe and built-in stereo microphone). In addition, the new camera has two media slots that are compatible not only with UHS-I and UHS-II speed SDXC cards, but also with CFexpress Type A cards, which have a higher total capacity and enable faster read and write speeds.

The Catalyst Browse/Prepare software from Sony ensures particularly fast and easy editing of the recordings. Users can import image stabilization metadata from the FX6 into Catalyst Browse/Prepare to transform handheld shots into exceptionally smooth image sequences. In addition, the FX6 has a dedicated Clip Flag button for easily filtering and finding favorite shots with Catalyst Browse/Prepare. The software also uses metadata to show footage in the correct position, even when the FX6 has been rotated. In addition, the FX6 is compatible with Sony's Content Browser mobile app, which makes it easy to monitor and control focus, iris, and Zoom remotely.

Sony FE C 16-35mm T3.1 E-mount

As wide as your imagination
Capture a wide field of view with the SELC1635G wide-angle Zoom lens. Full-frame digital, documentaries, or other high-quality content: the improved optical design and cutting-edge technology ensure reliable shooting.

Shoot with beautiful bokeh
Experience high-resolution images from the center of the frame to the edges - just as you would with Sony G Lenses. A wide T3.1 aperture (F2.8) from wide-angle to telephoto provides great background bokeh and impressive depth.

Responsive manual controls
Adjust focus, Zoom and aperture with smooth, consistent precision. Parfocal optics and precise controls enable versatile, repeatable shooting with the VENICE, PXW-FX9, and mirrorless α cameras.

Versatile control
In addition to manual control, the detachable servo unit provides access to new tools designed specifically for the Sony E-mount system. Use precise autofocus for spontaneous shooting or powerful servo Zoom, focus change, and iris options for creativity and more efficient workflow directly from the camera, remote, or smartphone.

New standards in resolution and bokeh.
The lens features two Sony XA (extreme aspherical) elements with a surface precision of 0.01 μm. Distortion common to wide-angle Zoom lenses, as well as astigmatism and image field curvature, is securely under control with this lens. Less attractive bokehs, such as so-called onion rings, are successfully prevented by the XA elements, resulting only in wonderfully smooth bokehs in the out-of-focus areas.

Clarity and contrast in any light
The original Sony nanocoating reduces unwanted reflections that can cause light flare and ghosting in backlit or other difficult shooting situations. The result is consistently high contrast and excellent clarity. By suppressing reflections across a wide spectrum of light, you gain flexibility in framing and composition, especially at wide-angle focal lengths.

Eleven blades for beautiful bokeh
The original circular aperture of Sony with 11 blades contributes to even better bokeh quality. Design and materials have been revised to maintain the circular shape of the aperture, and strict circularization standards have been applied to bring out the full bokeh of the lens without limitations.

Precise and responsive manual focus
The SELC1635G features a smooth, quiet linear-response manual focus that is instantaneous, precise and intuitive to control. The focus ring offers a wide rotation option (120 degrees) for fine tuning. Steps and a clear distance scale allow for uninterrupted focus changes and resets during multiple takes. In addition, filmmakers can also reverse the Zoomring and specify that aperture step adjustments are precisely indicated by tactile feedback.

More options for content producers
The SELC1635G's fixture has an industry-standard 0.8mm size and 114mm lens diameter, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of accessories, from matte boxes to focus pullers. The Zoomring rotation is also reversible to accommodate manufacturers of selected photographic lenses.

Detachable Servo Zoom
The included servo unit allows easy fingertip control for smooth, gradual Zooms, such as for a slowly rotated setting or a promotional video. Servo and manual control can be interchanged by pressing the button on the lens. When servo control is set, you can control the Zoom via the camera's handle or grip it directly. In addition, the servo unit can also be detached if necessary.

Fast and accurate AF and AE
The SELC1635G supports the hybrid phase/contrast detection autofocus (AF) and auto exposure (AE) functions of the FX9 full-frame camera. This breakthrough technology allows you to focus entirely on framing your shot, while the camera and lens work seamlessly together to maintain focus on subjects with shallow depth of field.

Fast, accurate autofocus
The floating system is made possible by dual DD-SSM ultrasonic motor (Direct Drive SuperSonic Motor) mechanisms. The special design of Sony drives two different focus groups, supporting high speed and precision as well as smooth movements. This enables ideal autofocus for both video and photo shooting.

High reliability in the toughest conditions
This lens is all-around dust and moisture resistant for added protection and reliable operation even in challenging conditions. Effortlessly create footage in light rain or wind.
