The Nikon Z f is equipped with the advanced EXPEED 7 image processing engine, just like the highly acclaimed Nikon Z 9. This enables first-class photo and film recordings. It combines style and substance and impresses with leading technology, including outstanding autofocus and image stabilization functions. The result is a camera that is ideal for anyone who wants to realize their creative vision in outstanding quality.
The design of the Nikon Z f pays homage to the legendary FM2 and incorporates elements such as the characteristic dials, the shutter release and the classic Nikon logo from the 1970s. All dials are carefully crafted from high-quality brass and integrated into a robust magnesium alloy body, giving the camera an unrivaled premium look and feel.
Expanded image printing options thanks to new functions
In addition to the traditional monochrome Picture Control setting, the Z f now offers two innovative Picture Controls: "Neutral; Monochrome" and "Deep Tone; Monochrome". A dedicated black and white option has been added to the photo/video selector under the acronym "B&W" to allow seamless switching between shooting modes.
The camera also boasts an impressive range of inspiring functions and features, including Creative Picture Control and the ability to shoot with pixel shift - an innovation that the Z f is the first Nikon system camera to support. It is also the world's first camera* to feature Focus Area VR, which effectively suppresses blurring around the focus area to guarantee first-class results.
Optimized video performance for diverse requirements
The brand new camera has an extensive range of video functions. These include direct in-camera recording of 10-bit H.265 video and the impressive ability to record up to 125 minutes of continuous 4K UHD video, without interruption. There are also some outstanding features carried over from the Z 9, such as the ability to precisely adjust ISO sensitivity in 1/6 EV increments and the useful red frame display during video shoots.
Outstanding performance thanks to state-of-the-art technology
The Z f camera is powered by the advanced EXPEED 7 image processing engine, which, among other things, enables remarkable ISO sensitivity. In addition, the Z f has also been given the capabilities of the Z 8 camera to reliably recognize nine different subject types and enhance subject recognition and tracking performance. The camera is also supported by a highly effective internal image stabilizer and digital VR, both of which significantly enhance the quality of shots in dimly lit or dark indoor environments.
Mechanical brass control dials
By turning the camera's top dials, ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation can be set with a firm click.
Unlimited tilting and rotating monitor with touch FN
Shoot from any angle and assign button controls to nine customizable areas with the touch function call.
Full-frame sensor with 24.5 MP EXPEED 7
Get flawless results even at high native ISO sensitivities of up to 64,000 for photos and 51,200 for movies.
Extremely powerful image stabilizer
The highly effective in-camera image stabilization and the new, innovative focus area VR work together to achieve powerful image stabilization of 8.0 f-stops in the active AF area. *1,*2
Outstanding focus range
Capture any subject with 299 automatic point control points or 77 custom large point patterns for stills (and 66 for movies). Deep Learning AF supports precise subject detection and tracking.
Scene recognition even with manual focus
When shooting with manual focus, the Z f recognizes the subject and automatically adjusts the focus point accordingly.
Breathtaking detail shots with pixel shift
Combine up to 32 shots to create highly detailed images with extremely high resolution and spectacular color reproduction*3
PRE-Release Capture
Be surprised by the moments you didn't even see. The Z f captures for up to one second before the shutter button is fully pressed.*4
Monochrome Profile
Give photos and videos a classic black and white look in no time at all - by simply flipping the B&W/Photo/Video selector switch.
Cinematic movie recording
Record 4K Ultra HD movies at 60p/30p/24p.*5,*6 Shoot extreme slow motion in Full HD/120p.
Robust and durable
Powerful sealing against the elements. Cold-resistant down to 0° C.
*1 Image stabilization for 8.0 stops with NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S telephoto lens. According to CIPA standard.
*2 When using NIKKOR Z lenses without their own VR, the camera's internal (3-axis) focus area VR is available. If several focus points are displayed, the focus point VR has no effect.
*3 The NX Studio software from Nikon is required for high-resolution images with pixel shift.
*4 Pre-Release Capture can only be set when shooting with High-Speed Frame Capture+ to capture bursts of up to 30 frames per second.
*5 4K UHD footage from a 6K oversampling can be captured at frame rates of 30p/25p/24p in the FX image area.
*6 4K/60p footage is available in DX format.
